The Avengers are Marvel’s premier superhero team, known for repeatedly saving the Earth – and even the entire universe – from destruction. Over the years, they’ve battled countless villains, bringing together Earth’s strongest heroes to fight alongside them. Though often facing overwhelming odds, the Avengers never give up. They’re similar to DC’s Justice League in that they both protect the world from major threats, but the two teams have many key differences.
As a huge movie fan, I’ve often wondered how Marvel’s Avengers would fare against DC’s villains. While I think they’d have some wins in the DC Multiverse, the Justice League’s biggest bad guys are just on another level. Honestly, there are ten villains from the DC universe who I think would completely overwhelm the Avengers – they’re that powerful and would take down Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, no question.
10) Starro the Conqueror

Starro the Conqueror is a major threat to the Justice League and would easily defeat the Avengers. Starro overwhelms entire nations by controlling people’s minds – a tactic the Avengers have historically struggled with. Its sheer scale is far beyond anything the Avengers typically face. Starro could quickly dominate most of the team and then use those controlled heroes to defeat the remaining Avengers. While Vision might be able to resist Starro’s control, he’d be left to fight the entire team alone, which is a battle even he couldn’t win. Ultimately, Starro presents a problem the Avengers aren’t equipped to handle, and it would likely lead to their downfall.
9) Lex Luthor

I truly believe Lex Luthor would absolutely destroy the Avengers. He’s not just smart, he’s on a whole other level – the most brilliant person on the planet, and he builds weapons specifically to fight someone as powerful as Superman! The Avengers have some intelligent members, but none of them compare to Lex’s twisted genius. He’s got this incredible armor that could take out most of the team quickly – if it can handle Superman, it can definitely handle the Avengers – and anyone who managed to survive the initial onslaught would then have to face a villain who’s smarter than all of them combined. Even Tony Stark wouldn’t stand a chance; Lex would probably just take over Stark’s companies just to prove he could. He’s just that good, and honestly, I think he’d win this fight easily, all by himself.
8) The Batman Who Laughs

The Batman Who Laughs proved to be a quickly disliked villain, despite being incredibly powerful. He’s essentially Batman combined with the Joker’s madness, making him a major threat throughout the DC universe. Having wiped out everyone on his own Earth, he understands how to counter any superpower. While he wouldn’t start with complete knowledge of the Avengers, his detective skills would allow him to rapidly develop strategies and learn from the fight. Considering the Avengers generally aren’t as strong as the Justice League, the Batman Who Laughs would likely have an easier time defeating them.
7) Darkseid

Darkseid started as a major enemy of the New Gods, but he’s now considered the biggest danger in the entire DC Multiverse. He’s incredibly strong – easily capable of defeating Kryptonians, putting him on par with someone like Thor. With his army of Parademons and elite soldiers, he’d quickly overwhelm the Avengers. Darkseid is used to fighting extremely powerful heroes, far stronger than even the most powerful Avengers. As a virtually all-powerful god of evil, he could easily defeat the Justice League, and gaining the Anti-Life Equation would make him unstoppable.
6) Eclipso

Eclipso was originally an angel of God tasked with delivering punishment, but he was stripped of his duties and imprisoned because he enjoyed inflicting pain on humans. Trapped within a black diamond called the Heart of Darkness, he’s spent centuries possessing others and attempting to spread darkness across the world. Though not as strong as he once was, Eclipso still possesses immense magical abilities and can warp reality itself. He can also control people, building armies to do his bidding. The Avengers would be significantly outmatched in a fight against him; only Thor and Scarlet Witch stand a chance, but even they wouldn’t be able to inflict serious damage. Eclipso is incredibly powerful, and a battle with him would be a devastating experience for the Avengers.
5) Amazo

Amazo is a remarkably strong android built to absorb the abilities of anyone it fights, both heroes and villains. While not particularly intelligent, Amazo possesses incredible power. It begins with the combined powers of the Justice League and continues to gain more with each battle. Though Amazo’s abilities aren’t *quite* as strong as the most powerful heroes – it’s as fast as the Flash but can’t exceed the speed of light, and incredibly strong, but can’t move planets like Superman – it’s still powerful enough to easily defeat most of the Avengers very quickly. Amazo would inflict massive damage on the Avengers, dismantling the team and turning their own powers against them.
4) The Crime Syndicate

The Crime Syndicate is essentially the evil counterpart to the Justice League, but hailing from another Earth (Earth-3). They’re significantly stronger than the Avengers. Their main members – Ultraman, Superwoman, Johnny Quick, Power Ring, and Owl Man – are incredibly powerful, and they’ve been joined by other villains like Atomika, Deathstorm, and Grid. The Syndicate’s power level is so high that the Avengers wouldn’t stand a chance. For example, Johnny Quick could defeat most of the Avengers almost instantly, leaving the rest of the Syndicate to easily handle the remaining, stronger heroes. Ultimately, it would come down to Thor facing the entire team alone, and even with his strength, he’d be overwhelmed.
3) The Legion of Doom

The Legion of Doom, comprised of the Justice League’s most formidable enemies, would easily defeat the Avengers. Just Bizarro alone poses a significant threat, capable of battling almost the entire Avengers team. When you combine his power with the intellect of super-geniuses like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, and Gorilla Grodd, plus powerful brutes like Solomon Grundy, the Parasite, and Cheetah, and skilled tacticians like Sinestro, Captain Cold, and Black Manta, the Legion becomes overwhelmingly powerful. Each member could inflict massive damage on the Avengers individually, and together they form an unstoppable force against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
2) The Anti-Monitor

As a huge comic book and movie fan, I’ve always been fascinated by the sheer power levels of villains. And when it comes to DC, the Anti-Monitor is in a league of his own. Seriously, this guy isn’t just a planet-buster, he *destroys universes* – almost the entire multiverse, in fact! The Justice League, even at their strongest, couldn’t take him down, and it took a team-up with heroes from across infinite realities just to have a chance. Thinking about the Avengers facing him? It’s just not a fair fight. He casually overpowered Kryptonians, and the Avengers don’t have the cosmic-level abilities or resources the Justice League used. Honestly, the Anti-Monitor is a villain who requires a multiverse-spanning effort to defeat, and even the strongest Avengers lineup wouldn’t stand a chance.
1) Perpetua

Perpetua is an incredibly powerful being in the DC Universe, arguably one of the strongest ever. She has the ability to create entire multiverses, and originally created the DC Multiverse with the intention of using it to conquer other realities controlled by similar beings. The Justice League has faced her twice, and both times they were defeated. Ultimately, she was killed by the Batman Who Laughs after he gained the powers of Doctor Manhattan. Perpetua would easily overwhelm the Avengers, just as she did the Justice League, but unlike the League, the Avengers likely wouldn’t be able to find a way to win.
