The Justice League is the most powerful team across all of DC’s universes. Without them, everything would have been destroyed countless times. The Justice League succeeds thanks to the incredible abilities and expertise of its members. These heroes represent the very best, but all that power together can actually be quite risky. The Justice League’s members are truly exceptional, however, there’s always a possibility someone could falter. This is a terrifying thought, because if a Justice League member turned against the others, they could potentially wipe out everything in their path.
The Justice League relies on incredibly powerful heroes, but that power comes with risk – if one were to turn evil or fall under control, the consequences could be devastating. Several Justice League members actually have the potential to destroy the planet, and their abilities and resources make them capable of such widespread destruction. Here are ten Justice Leaguers who could wipe out Earth: their power makes them planet-killers.
10) Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is a long-standing and incredibly powerful hero for DC Comics. While she’s immensely strong, she couldn’t single-handedly destroy Earth. However, as shown in stories like Flashpoint, Wonder Woman and the Amazons *together* possess the capability to obliterate the planet. Leading an army of Amazons, equipped with their sophisticated technology and magical abilities, Wonder Woman would have the power to devastate everything, effectively ending the world as we know it.
9) Green Lantern

The Green Lanterns represent a major power within the DC Multiverse, and their power rings are widely regarded as the universe’s most potent weapons. Hal Jordan has consistently demonstrated the greatest skill among all Green Lanterns, and he’s capable of destroying Earth. The Green Lantern ring grants its user the ability to manifest anything they can envision, meaning Hal could devise a weapon capable of planetary destruction if he chose to (and given his reputation as the most proficient ring wielder, it’s certainly within his capabilities). Furthermore, he could simply bombard the planet with asteroids until it shattered. Hal Jordan doesn’t require the power of Parallax to accomplish this; his power ring alone is sufficient.
8) The Flash

Multiple Flashes have been part of the Justice League, with Barry Allen and Wally West being the most well-known. Their powers, stemming from the Speed Force, are so immense they could theoretically destroy the Earth if unleashed fully (and Wally West is generally considered the more powerful of the two). The Speed Force grants the Flash incredible abilities, and even a fraction of that power could be catastrophic. For instance, imagine what would happen if the Flash ran around the Earth at the speed of light – or faster. The outcome would almost certainly be devastating. He could even tunnel to the planet’s core, unleashing enough lava to end civilization. Furthermore, the Flash’s infinite mass punch could crack the planet itself. The Flash’s capabilities extend far beyond simply running quickly, and that level of power makes him capable of destroying the Earth.
7) Firestorm

Firestorm is a swirling mass of power. He possesses typical superhero abilities like flying, super strength, becoming intangible, being invulnerable, and projecting energy blasts, but his real strength lies in his ability to control matter. Firestorm can alter the structure of molecules, constructing new substances from the materials around him. He could generate plasma capable of obliterating anything in its path, even the planet itself, and that’s just a glimpse of his potential. Furthermore, his powers are based on nuclear energy, meaning he has the capacity to create an explosion large enough to shatter the Earth or reduce it to ashes.
6) Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter doesn’t get the recognition he deserves; his incredible range of powers makes him one of the Justice League’s most powerful members. He’s as strong as Superman, easily capable of destroying the Earth by, for example, hurling large objects from space at the planet. But even more frighteningly, Martian Manhunter is the most powerful telepath on Earth, able to stop people’s breathing or heartbeat, potentially killing many at once. He could even control other, more destructive heroes and use them to obliterate everything. Martian Manhunter would be a practically unbeatable villain and could quickly devastate the planet.
5) Batman

Batman doesn’t rely on superpowers, but that hasn’t prevented him from overcoming any obstacle, even incredibly powerful opponents. He’s famous for being able to strategize for any situation, and that means he’s certainly capable of destroying the planet. We’ve even seen a version of Batman do just that – The Batman Who Laughs eliminated all life on his Earth and leveled every city, leaving behind a barren wasteland. Batman possesses the intellect and the resources to cause such devastation, and stopping him would be incredibly difficult, if not impossible.
4) Captain Atom

Captain Atom is a hero whose true strength is often overlooked. He’s made of both nuclear energy and quantum power, which gives him an incredible amount of ability. He’s demonstrated the power to manipulate time in the past, and he can also control matter at a molecular level-either of these powers alone would be enough to obliterate the Earth. Recent stories even revealed he can absorb the abilities of other heroes, meaning he could potentially steal powers from others on this list and use them to destroy the planet. Captain Atom is exceptionally powerful, and that power would allow him to turn Earth into nothing more than a glowing ruin in space if he wanted to. He’s truly a force to be reckoned with.
3) Doctor Fate

As a movie buff, let me tell you, Doctor Fate isn’t just powerful – he’s on another level! He’s easily one of the strongest magic users around, and honestly, that power is scary because he *could* destroy the planet. It all comes from the Helmet of Fate, which lets him connect with this ancient being called Nabu, the Lord of Order. Plus, it gives him access to a crazy complete magical library in the Tower of Fate. Seriously, the power level is insane. I remember reading “The Princes of Darkness”, and Mordru used Fate’s power to create this never-ending eclipse that would have frozen the whole planet! And that’s just one example – Fate could summon armies of demons and just wipe everything out. There are so many ways he could destroy the world, it’s not even funny. His magical knowledge and raw power would give him countless methods to end the Earth.
2) Zatanna

Zatanna is the Justice League’s most skilled magic user, and her powers are among the most unique in comic books. She casts spells by speaking words backwards, which lets her accomplish almost anything she imagines. While her power isn’t unlimited, Zatanna could, for instance, trigger all of Earth’s nuclear weapons by taking control of the people who have access to them. She could even create a massive, ever-growing firestorm capable of consuming the entire planet. Essentially, if she could devise a plan, she could make it happen. Destroying the planet wouldn’t be simple for Zatanna, but she is certainly capable of doing so.
1) Superman

Superman is incredibly powerful, and surprisingly, he has several ways he could destroy the Earth. For instance, in the story “Camelot Falls”, a future timeline shows Superman being hurled at the planet from space, causing massive damage and fracturing the Earth’s crust. Just think about what would happen if he flew at Earth at the speed of light without slowing down. That’s only one possibility. He could even, at his current strength, move the planet from its orbit and send it crashing into the sun. Or, he could ram the moon into Earth, turning it into a catastrophic weapon. An unrestrained Superman is a frightening thought, and truthfully, destroying the planet wouldn’t be difficult for him at all.
