With nearly 50 movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has featured a huge number of characters. It’s natural that not everyone gets their own movie, but there are definitely some fan favorites who deserve one. Many of these characters, who often support the main heroes, could easily carry their own story within the MCU.
Characters like Scarlet Scarab, Namor, and War Machine have the potential to lead their own movies, but Marvel Studios hasn’t given them the opportunity yet. There are many stories to tell about them on the big screen, either exploring their past or continuing their adventures. Unfortunately, Marvel Studios hasn’t shown any interest in developing their stories, and that doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon.
Hawkeye Could Use a Prequel
It seems unlikely Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Hailee Steinfeld now taking on the mantle and contract negotiations with Marvel falling through, Renner’s time as Clint Barton is probably over, which is disappointing for fans. There were still many interesting stories to tell with the original Hawkeye, potentially in a sequel or a solo adventure.
Honestly, I’d be so hyped to see Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, get another movie. There’s a ton of potential for a prequel – maybe showing his early life, or even what happened after the main events we’ve seen. I’d especially love to see more of his life with Laura, his wife, and how they worked together. And come on, everyone wants to know what really happened in Budapest with Natasha! A whole movie centered around that would be amazing.
Scarlet Scarab Has An Incredible Lore
The Disney+ series Moon Knight introduced several new characters, including Layla El-Faouly, who becomes the hero known as the Scarlet Scarab. She gains the powers of the Egyptian goddess Taweret and becomes a crucial ally and the wife of Marc Spector. Unfortunately, actress May Calamawy has only played this role in Moon Knight so far.
Scarlet Scarab is a compelling character who doesn’t get enough attention in either the comics or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she has the potential to lead her own movie. The rich history of Taweret and the Egyptian gods provides a great foundation for a film, and there are also some excellent Moon Knight villains who could be incorporated into her story. As the first Egyptian female superhero, she deserves a chance to have her own spotlight.
Jentorra Could Be The Key To A New Realm
After the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, many fans seem to have overlooked Katy O’Brien’s character. Jentorra, the leader of the Quantum Realm’s Freedom Fighters, is a powerful warrior who plays a key role in fighting Kang the Conqueror.
Many fans might think Jentorra is a brand new character, but she actually has a history in the Marvel comics. She’s the niece of Jarella, the former queen of K’ai, a tiny world Hulk once visited. This backstory means Jentorra lived a full life before Kang took over her planet. If Marvel Studios introduces the Microverse in future movies, Jentorra could be central to that storyline. Even after her role in saving the Quantum Realm, there’s still much we don’t know about her.
Namor Is More Than A Villainous Leader
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced the character of Namor, and the conflict between him and Shuri – a battle between Wakanda and Talokan – kept audiences captivated. While the film touched on Namor’s history, many viewers felt it didn’t reveal enough. There’s a strong belief that Namor’s story has the potential to carry its own standalone movie.
Namor has always been a complex character, not simply good or evil. While Black Panther: Wakanda Forever portrayed him as a major antagonist, many fans now feel he deserves a chance to be seen as more than just a villain. If Avengers: Doomsday can show his motivations and depth, it could pave the way for a solo film that makes him as beloved and popular as other heroes from the Infinity Saga.
Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk Hasn’t Had A Time To Shine In A While
Similar to the first Avengers, the Hulk had his own movie, The Incredible Hulk, released in 2008. But that was with Edward Norton in the role, before Mark Ruffalo took over. Since those two actors portrayed the Hulk with very different styles, it would be great to see a future film starring Mark Ruffalo’s version. It would give his character a fresh opportunity to develop a compelling story, especially since Marvel hasn’t focused on him much so far.
It’s been over ten years since we’ve seen Bruce Banner fully transform into the Hulk that fans adore. Since the conclusion of the Avengers’ battle with Thanos, he’s mostly appeared as Professor Hulk, which gives him constant control but isn’t quite as exciting to watch in a fight. Many viewers are hoping to see the classic Hulk – the internal struggle between man and monster – return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the character hasn’t been a major focus for too long.
Hercules Could Introduce The Whole Greek Pantheon
The ending of Thor: Love & Thunder showed Zeus sending Hercules to get revenge on Thor for stealing his lightning and embarrassing him. Since that movie came out in 2022, there haven’t been any announcements about a fifth Thor film. Because of this, a lot of fans now think Thor might die in Avengers: Doomsday.
Removing Hercules from the plans would be a big error. Marvel Studios made a fantastic choice in casting Brett Goldstein, and that’s just the beginning. As a supremely strong Greek god, Hercules could pave the way for introducing other gods from Greek mythology – which the MCU might need if Thor doesn’t have much longer, offering a perfect replacement.
War Machine Could Use Some Love After A Long Time
War Machine started as a supporting character in the Iron Man movies, but Marvel Studios hasn’t given him much attention since Tony Stark’s death in Avengers: Endgame. Even when he was affected by the events of Secret Invasion, the story didn’t explore what happened to him. A movie focused solely on War Machine could finally give fans the details they deserve.
A solo film for War Machine is long overdue. It would allow him to establish his own identity, separate from Iron Man, and delve into his personal story. With Iron Man gone, a War Machine movie could also explore the complex issues surrounding military technology and power, and Rhodey is the perfect character to navigate these challenges – he’s intelligent, determined, and committed to honoring his friend’s legacy responsibly.
Howard the Duck Could Have A Succesful Movie Now
Okay, so Howard the Duck has popped up a few times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – a little here and there in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and then he even got his own episode of What If…?. Honestly, after that awful movie he got back in 1986, I think the guy deserves another shot at a proper big-screen adventure. I’d totally play a game based on that!
Despite being a box office failure in 1986, Howard the Duck developed a dedicated fanbase who appreciated its quirky humor and satirical commentary on superheroes and society. Recent appearances in Marvel Cinematic Universe films prove that interest in the character remains strong. A new Howard the Duck movie, made with modern CGI, bold creative choices, and self-aware humor, could be a major success.
Thena Is The Most Interesting Member of the Eternals
While the film wasn’t a huge success, many fans don’t think that means all of its characters should be abandoned. If any of the Eternals were to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thena should be at the top of the list. Played by Angelina Jolie, she has the most compelling and intriguing storyline of all the characters introduced in the film.
Thena is a powerful fighter struggling with a condition similar to PTSD, known as Mahd Wy’ry, a disease she understands is slowly worsening. When we last saw her, she was actively searching for a cure with the other Eternals. A film focused on Thena could explore this search and also delve into her history as a warrior. Given Angelina Jolie’s talent, a well-written script could establish Thena as a truly heartbreaking and memorable character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Adam Warlock Is A Very Complex Character
Fans were thrilled when Will Poulter was cast as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, hoping to see his character develop further in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it now appears unlikely he’ll return for future films. With James Gunn leaving Marvel Studios, a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 seems improbable. Even if the current team doesn’t continue, Adam Warlock deserves his own movie.
As a fan, I’ve always been fascinated by Warlock. In the comics, he’s so much more than just a hero – he’s this almost god-like figure constantly battling a darker side of himself, really questioning what he’s supposed to be doing. I was a little disappointed his first appearance didn’t really dive into that inner struggle, because it felt like the movie had too much else going on. But I honestly think a solo film for him could be amazing! Imagine a space opera that’s also a superhero story about finding your purpose – it could be something really special.
