6) MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra
Initially, when word got out about a Marvel game starring Captain America and Black Panther, many thought it would flop. The reason being that the storyline was set during World War II, which isn’t typically thrilling in the Marvel Universe context. Moreover, everyone anticipated a typical action game. Yet, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra appears to be anything but ordinary.

This grand adventure is being meticulously crafted by Hello Games, and though there’s no set date for its release yet, I’m more than willing to wait. As long as they deliver on every promise they made at launch, they can take all the time they need to perfect this masterpiece.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to say, I was thoroughly impressed with the success of “Control” by Remedy. The game had an intense, gritty atmosphere that kept me hooked. The storyline was intriguing and shrouded in mystery, making every moment suspenseful. The acting was spot-on, and for a video game, it managed to create a compelling sense of realism. “Control” served as a testament to Remedy’s prowess in crafting blockbuster games, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with larger, more resourceful studios. In a continuation of the Remedy Connected Universe, characters from both Alan Wake and Control will intermingle. Much like its predecessor, Control 2 will be a shooter game. Remedy’s most recent single-player title, Alan Wake 2, showcased visually stunning graphics. Yet, Control 2 is anticipated to surpass that visual prowess, an extraordinary claim considering the impressive graphics of Alan Wake 2. If development proceeds smoothly, you can likely play Control 2 in late 2026 or 2027 on PlayStation 5.
9) Marvel’s Wolverine
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been thrilled by Insomniac’s accomplishments with the Ratchet & Clank series, but their crowning achievement has undoubtedly been the Marvel’s Spider-Man series. Now, Insomniac is aiming for another Marvel icon – Wolverine! Back in 2021, they unveiled Marvel’s Wolverine in a captivating trailer. Since then, there hasn’t been any official word. However, it’s been whispered that Insomniac faced a data breach, resulting in the leaking of the pre-alpha build.
Details such as gameplay elements, character appearances, the plotline, and numerous other aspects have been unintentionally exposed online. Insomniac Games has acknowledged this predicament, vowing to carry on developing the game notwithstanding the inconvenience. To preserve the element of surprise, they may make modifications along the way. Until Insomniac provides us with a fresh glimpse of Marvel’s Wolverine, it remains one of the most eagerly awaited PlayStation 5 titles.
10) Physint
Due to Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami, there will be no more “Metal Gear” games in the future. Yet, during a recent State of Play stream, it was announced that PlayStation and Kojima Productions are collaborating on something new. Kojima unveiled that he is currently developing “Physint,” an upcoming action espionage game for the next generation. He revealed this due to the numerous requests from fans asking him to create another espionage game similar to “Metal Gear.
It’s important to clarify that “Physint” will not be launched prior to the PlayStation 6. This means that releases in 2026 and 2027 are no longer options. Instead, a possible launch window could span from 2028 to 2029. Given this timeline, it’s likely that “Physint” will be a cross-generation game, playable on both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 6.
Previously, the collaboration between Kojima Productions and Sony was uncertain after “Death Stranding 2”. However, both parties expressed strong interest in continuing their partnership, which resulted in the announcement of “Physint” more than a year before “Death Stranding 2” hit the shelves.
