10 Most Powerful Jujutsu Kaisen Characters Ranked

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is well-known for its action-packed and thrilling battles. This dark fantasy series centers on Yuji Itadori, who becomes involved in the world of Jujutsu sorcery after encountering Megumi Fushiguro and learning about curses. When attacked by dangerous monsters, Yuji swallows a cursed object – a finger belonging to the most powerful sorcerer in history – in an attempt to protect Megumi. While this would normally be fatal, Yuji surprisingly becomes a host for Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. The story follows Yuji as he attends Jujutsu Tech and encounters a variety of sorcerers, cursed users, and spirits.

The power levels in Jujutsu Kaisen are really complicated, making it hard to say who would win in a fight. Almost every character has a special ability that gives them an advantage. While the series has shown a lot of strong characters, only a few have the potential to become the most powerful. Here are ten characters who stand out from the rest.

10) Kashimo

Kashimo is a powerful, ancient sorcerer who’s appearing in Season 3 of the anime. He was known in his time for his incredibly potent cursed energy, which had electric properties and made every attack deadly. While his special technique dramatically increased his strength, it severely damaged his body and would ultimately lead to his death. He unleashed this full power during a battle with Sukuna, but it proved ineffective against the strongest sorcerer ever known.

9) Kinji Hakari

I’ve been watching Hakari at Jujutsu Tech, and he’s incredibly talented – one of the few students I thought could potentially reach my level. He proved it during the Culling Game with a hard-fought win against Kashimo. What really sets him apart is his ‘Idle Death Gamble’ technique. Basically, if he hits a jackpot, he gets nearly invincible for over four minutes, which lets him take down almost anyone. It was a really impressive fight, but even after winning, Hakari didn’t see it as a complete victory – he felt Kashimo was just as strong, and he didn’t want to kill someone he respected as an equal.

8) Yuji Itadori

In the final battle, Yuji gained a huge power increase through techniques like body switching and absorbing the Death Paintings. Despite this, he hadn’t had enough time to master these abilities, as his strength wasn’t based on his usual skill or practice. Even so, he managed to fight against the King of Curses while trying to rescue Megumi. With help from his allies, Sukuna was weakened enough for Yuji to deliver the final, difficult blow and win.

7) Maki Zenin

Maki was born with a unique limitation that prevents her from using any natural magical abilities. Instead, she relies entirely on her incredible physical strength and a variety of cursed objects. The tragic death of her sister, Mai, during the Shibuya Incident unlocked a hidden potential within her. Mai sacrificed herself to create a special katana for Maki – a weapon that directly damages the soul, ignoring any physical defenses. As a result, Maki achieved a level of physical power comparable to Toji Fushiguro, a legendary sorcerer who once defeated two powerful, high-level opponents on his own.

6) Yuki Tsukumo

Yuki is an incredibly powerful sorcerer, strong enough to defeat most villains. However, Kenjaku’s cunning and diverse cursed techniques proved to be too much for her. Yuki’s unique ability, Star Rage, lets her increase her physical power for devastating attacks. She can also enhance her strength with Reverse Cursed Technique and Simple Domain, giving her a versatile fighting style that combines both powerful offense and strong defense.

5) Mahoraga

Mahoraga is the strongest spirit summoned through the Zenin Clan’s unique Ten Shadows Technique. Historically, no one from the Zenin Clan has been able to control it, but Sukuna managed to do so during the Shibuya Incident. What makes Mahoraga so dangerous isn’t just its immense power, but its ability to adapt to any attack and overcome it – even Gojo’s seemingly impenetrable Infinity.

4) Kenjaku

The recent ending of Jujutsu Kaisen didn’t fully explain Kenjaku, but it did show just how strong he is. He’s an incredibly old curse user who has lived for centuries by transferring his consciousness into new bodies – both living and dead. Each time he does this, he gains the memories and abilities of the person he inhabits. By the time the story begins, he’s collected a huge number of powers, including those of the powerful sorcerer Suguru Geto.

3) Yuta Okkotsu

Yuta is incredibly powerful, often considered second only to Satoru Gojo. He possesses a vast amount of cursed energy, even exceeding that of the strongest sorcerers today. His unique ability lets him learn and then significantly amplify the techniques of others – boosting them tenfold. He can use an unlimited number of these copied techniques thanks to his Domain Expansion. Remarkably, within months of joining Jujutsu High, he defeated Suguru Geto, a highly skilled and powerful sorcerer. Yuta further honed his skills by training in Africa with Miguel, mastering dozens more techniques.

2) Satoru Gojo

Gojo is a uniquely powerful sorcerer, the first in his family for hundreds of years to be born with the rare Six Eyes. These special eyes unlock the full potential of his family’s power, called Limitless, allowing him to manipulate space itself. Considered the strongest sorcerer alive, Gojo is virtually untouchable. His Six Eyes, combined with his technique Infinity, effectively slow down anything that attempts to reach him, be it an attack or a person. He also possesses incredibly destructive explosive abilities. When Gojo uses his Domain Expansion, he overwhelms his opponent’s mind with an endless stream of information, leaving them incapacitated.

1) Ryomen Sukuna

The last part of the manga reveals why Sukuna is known as the most powerful sorcerer ever. Having regained his full strength and taken on his true form, Sukuna was able to fight against nearly all of the main characters, even after Gojo weakened him. He has incredible knowledge of Jujutsu and the cursed energy to back it up. Back in the Heian Era, people feared and even worshipped him because of his immense power. Ultimately, no one in the story – not even Gojo – could match his level of strength.
