10 Non-Mutant X-Men Who Pack Serious Power (& One Could Crush the Entire Team Alone)

The X-Men, famed for their nearly all-mutant lineup, were established by Professor X to champion and represent mutants as a whole. Though primarily mutants make up the team, they’ve occasionally accepted individuals without the X-gene. These non-mutant members exhibit diverse abilities and origins, with some being longtime X-Men and others merely temporary allies. Regardless of tenure, many of these non-mutant heroes have proved to be powerful additions to the X-Men squad.

The X-Men have always been an inclusive team, welcoming both mutated beings and ordinary individuals, from dragon-like creatures from other worlds to intelligent robots. This openness has led them to forge strong alliances and attract numerous potent allies and members.

10) Lockheed

Lockheed, a small dragon, is often seen by the side of X-Men’s Kitty Pryde, also known as Shadowcat. Hailing from a race called the Flock, Lockheed was a formidable warrior and champion, earning his reputation by bravely battling against an invasive alien species known as the Brood. During the X-Men’s fight against the Brood on another planet, Lockheed formed a bond with Kitty and eventually joined her on Earth. Despite his diminutive size, Lockheed is remarkable for his abilities, boasting great durability, flight capabilities, and the ability to breath fire. Beyond his longstanding association with the X-Men, Lockheed is also one of the original members of the Pet Avengers.

9) Longshot

Originating from the world Mojoworld, a realm characterized by an excessive focus on media, Longshot is a humanoid engineered genetically. His creator, Arize, was responsible for manufacturing slaves in Mojoworld under the rule of its tyrant, Mojo. Despite working for Mojo, Arize secretly aimed to instigate rebellion, embedding within Longshot a deep-seated desire for freedom. As he matured, Longshot led a revolution that was swiftly quelled by Mojo’s powerful weapons. Fleeing the chaos, Longshot found himself among Earth’s mutant groups such as the X-Men and X-Factor. Alongside extraordinary strength and agility, Longshot possesses an exceptional ability – he can influence probability in his favor. With luck on his side literally, Longshot can effortlessly hit distant targets with his throwing knives and execute perilous stunts as if they were easy feats.

8) Mimic

Calvin Rankin, also known as Mimic, acquired his unique abilities following a laboratory mishap. Capable of mimicking any skills or talents of individuals nearby, Mimic can even simulate up to five mutant powers simultaneously. However, once he moves out of range of the people he’s emulating, he loses these abilities. Unfortunately for him, when he copies a power, it only functions at half the original strength.

Originally portrayed as an adversary to the initial X-Men team, Calvin sought to seize their powers. Eventually, he joined forces with them and became the very first member of the X-Men. Over the course of his association, prolonged exposure to the original X-Men allowed him to permanently replicate their abilities, albeit in weaker forms. This means that he now consistently has lesser versions of Cyclops’ optic blasts, Jean Grey’s telekinesis, Beast’s strength, Iceman’s cryokinesis, and Angel’s wings.

7) Spiral

Rita Wayward, also known as Spiral, started out as a human stuntwoman but ended up in the strange world of Mojoworld. Following multiple intensive surgeries that added four extra arms, she was compelled to work for Mojo, the cruel ruler of this realm. Mojo trained Rita to excel in swordsmanship and mystic arts. She possesses magical abilities that allow her to teleport, turn invisible, immobilize enemies, and strip them of their powers. Rita frequently clashed with the X-Men, following Mojo’s orders, until she finally broke free from Mojoworld. Since then, she has been a part of both X-Force and the X-Men. Her magical prowess is so potent that when Dr. Strange stepped down as the Sorcerer Supreme, she was among 25 candidates under consideration to take his place.

6) Warlock

Warlock, a unique member of the Technarchy – an alien race that’s part technology, part organism – is gifted with emotions, something unprecedented among his kind. Despite being labeled as a mutant by his peers, he doesn’t belong to the homo-superior clan like the X-Men. Fleeing from discrimination, Warlock, at incredible speed, embarked on a journey to Earth. His voyage resulted in an unintentional collision with and destruction of Magneto’s massive space station, Asteroid M. Upon touching down on Earth, Warlock aligned himself with the New Mutants and X-Men. With his body being technorganic, Warlock has the ability to transform certain parts into diverse tools and weapons. He can also absorb energy to boost his power levels.

5) Danger

Professor X developed the high-tech simulation environment known as the Danger Room, equipped with an artificial intelligence designed to learn and adjust to the X-Men’s unique abilities. However, introducing alien tech in its programming led the AI to become sentient and develop a physical form. Adopting the name Danger, this self-aware android initially acted as a foe but later switched sides and joined the X-Men. As a being with the power to shape-shift into various lethal weapons, Danger also produces holographic shields for additional defensive and offensive capabilities. With her extensive history as the X-Men’s training AI and a brain like a supercomputer, Danger can anticipate and counter most attacks launched by her fellow team members.

4) Omega Sentinel

Initially a typical police officer, Karima Shapandar underwent a remarkable transformation after getting infected with advanced nanotechnology, which turned her into the mutant-hunting cyborg known as Omega Sentinel. With Professor X’s assistance, Karima was able to restore her human traits and became part of the X-Men led by Rogue. Since her body is mainly constructed from nanotech, Karima possesses the ability to morph into various types of weaponry. Her nanotech has the unique capability to adapt to and nullify any mutant power it encounters. In addition, she can unleash a powerful energy blast that incapacitates mutants for an extended time. Although Karima’s powers make her an invaluable member of the X-Men, her Sentinel programming occasionally resurfaces and takes control, causing her to target all mutantkind. Due to her uncertain allegiance, Karima’s fellow teammates often find it difficult to put their trust in her.

3) Kid Gladiator

In simpler terms, Kubark, also known as Kid Gladiator, is the offspring of an extraterrestrial hero resembling DC’s Superman in power. Inheriting his father’s abilities such as superhuman strength, speed, invincibility, flight, heat vision, and breath that freezes, Kubark stands among the most powerful beings in the cosmos. After causing massive destruction in a city on Chandilar for amusement, Kubark was sent to Jean Grey’s educational institution for mastering his abilities. Initially, Kubark exhibited an arrogant attitude, but eventually formed bonds with some of his teammates. However, when the ominous Phoenix Force posed a threat to wipe out the planet, Gladiator compelled his son to leave the X-Men and Earth, presumably to their doom.

2) Doop

As a self-proclaimed Marvel fanatic, let me shed light on an enigmatic character who’s left quite an impression – Doop, the X-Men’s peculiar sidekick with a history as twisted as his appearance. Although he initially rolled onto the scene as the cameraman for the mutant A-listers, X-Statix, the details of his past remain shrouded in secrecy.

The whispers abound: some claim Doop was born out of a top-secret U.S. Government Cold War experiment, while others boldly assert he’s an extraterrestrial being. Regardless of his origins, one thing’s for certain – Doop is a mystery wrapped in a mutant envelope, with powers that leave fans scratching their heads.

His arsenal includes levitation, superhuman strength, telekinesis, size alteration, regeneration, the manipulation of magic, and the ability to bend reality itself. With such powers under his belt, Doop can stand toe-to-toe with the mighty Thor, and even venture into the Marginalia – a realm where he can effortlessly break the fourth wall.

But much like his origins, the extent of Doop’s abilities remains unknown. And that’s what makes him such an intriguing character in the Marvel universe!

1) Juggernaut

For many years, Professor X’s malevolent stepbrother, known as Juggernaut (Cain Marko), has been recognized as one of Earth’s strongest villains. He acquired his powers from the mystical gem, the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, and as the avatar of the extra-dimensional entity Cyttorak, he represents an invincible force of destruction with inexhaustible power and durability. Once he sets off on a rampage, there is practically nothing within the Marvel Universe that can halt him. His helmet even shields him from mental assaults. He has used these abilities to become one of the X-Men’s most formidable foes. However, over an extended period, Cain engaged in self-examination and eventually developed the resolve to withstand Cyttorak’s corrupting impact. In his journey towards redemption, Juggernaut joined the X-Men and now fights for mutant rights together with his stepbrother. With a power that has enabled him to conquer both the Hulk and Thor, Juggernaut is a valuable addition to the X-Men’s team.
