The Justice League consistently steps up to protect the entire DC Multiverse. For decades, they’ve faced the biggest dangers in the comic book world, journeying across different Earths and through time to save reality itself. The League is known for its incredible skill and few teams can compare. While the team’s roster has changed over the years, the most successful versions bring together the greatest heroes from Earth and beyond. Members have to be truly exceptional, as they regularly battle unbelievably powerful enemies. Currently, everyone is technically a member, but being part of the Justice League means being among the strongest beings in existence.
The Justice League faces incredibly dangerous enemies, so its members need to be resilient – able to withstand not only physical attacks, but also the emotional and psychological toll of the job. These ten Leaguers are the most durable, forming the team’s bedrock against its greatest challenges.
10) Hawkman

Hawkman now primarily fights with the Justice Society, but he previously fought alongside the Satellite League against major threats across the multiverse. Carter Hall is consistently portrayed as one of the most resilient heroes in comics, having battled evil for countless lifetimes and refusing to surrender. His body, enhanced by Nth metal, grants him incredible strength, toughness, and the ability to heal quickly. He’s also known for his unwavering determination – he doesn’t easily forgive and never gives up.
9) Power Girl

Power Girl has recently been working with the Justice Society, but she previously fought alongside the Justice League International. As a Kryptonian from Earth-Two, determining her exact power level is tricky. She’s not as powerful as Superman, but likely comparable to Supergirl. Still, she’s incredibly strong and resilient. Her biggest weakness isn’t physical, though – she struggles with self-doubt and a troubled past, often questioning her identity and origins. This, combined with a quick temper, sometimes leads to errors in battle, impacting both herself and her team.
8) Batman

While Batman isn’t the only Justice League member without superpowers, he’s definitely the most resilient. Most of his enemies could easily defeat him, yet he consistently survives incredibly dangerous encounters. He’s also exceptionally strong-willed, having overcome some of the most psychologically challenging opponents. Bruce Wayne does have vulnerabilities, but few enemies understand them well enough to exploit them. His skills and strategic thinking consistently give him the edge, allowing him to outmaneuver anyone who tries to defeat him.
7) Elongated Man

Ralph Dibny, also known as Elongated Man, started as a supporting hero alongside The Flash in Central City, balancing teamwork with his own investigations. He and his wife, Sue, joined the Justice League thanks to Sue’s skills and popularity, with Ralph becoming the team’s flexible powerhouse. Like other characters with stretching abilities, Elongated Man is incredibly durable and resistant to injury. While he isn’t always the most perceptive and has made errors in judgment, he’s generally capable enough to handle most situations.
6) Shazam/The Captain

Shazam has gone by several names throughout his history. He originally debuted as Captain Marvel, but later became known as Shazam due to licensing issues. Now, he’s often simply called ‘The Captain,’ and he’s one of the Justice League’s strongest members. He’s often played a role similar to Superman, providing a powerful secondary force within the team. Billy Batson, the hero behind Shazam, is incredibly resilient and clever, making him one of the League’s most capable heroes, despite being younger than many of his teammates. He’s strong both physically and mentally, even if people sometimes jokingly refer to him as the ‘Big Red Cheese’.
5) Red Tornado

Red Tornado is a DC Comics hero with a unique origin. Originally built as a robot designed to defeat the Justice League, he eventually joined their ranks. He gained the ability to control wind after merging with a powerful elemental spirit called the Tornado Spirit. Red Tornado is incredibly strong and durable – Batman once called him the team’s strongest defender. Even if his body is destroyed, it can always be repaired. His dedication to his family – his wife, Kathy, and adopted daughter, Traya – gives him unwavering strength and makes him a vital member of the Justice League.
4) Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter is arguably DC’s most overlooked hero, despite being one of the Justice League’s strongest members. He has a huge range of abilities, including super strength, speed, invulnerability, shapeshifting, enhanced senses, heat vision, telepathy, flight, and the power to become invisible or pass through solid objects. While he used to be vulnerable to fire, he’s conquered that fear. Now, his biggest weakness is enemies who can disrupt his shapeshifting abilities with specific chemicals, forcing him out of his desired form. However, even with this vulnerability, he remains incredibly powerful and mentally resilient, consistently overcoming challenges in battle.
3) Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is incredibly powerful and resilient, created by the gods and honed by the skilled Amazon warriors. She’s battled countless foes and is considered one of the greatest superheroes of all time. While not technically bulletproof, her incredible speed allows her to easily avoid bullets. She can withstand attacks that would defeat almost any other hero, remaining steadfast and unwavering in the face of danger.
2) Superman

Superman has faced many challenges and weaknesses throughout his adventures, from Kryptonite to magical attacks. Despite these threats, he consistently finds a way to persevere. Even when his powers are weakened, it usually takes time for the effect to fully take hold, giving him an advantage. He’s famous for his unwavering determination and refusal to give up, often pushing himself beyond reasonable limits. While incredibly resilient, Superman isn’t necessarily the strongest member of the Justice League.
1) Plastic Man

Plastic Man is easily the most resilient member of the Justice League. He’s incredibly durable – he even spent thousands of years at the bottom of the ocean and survived! – and can change his shape into absolutely anything. He doesn’t have many weaknesses, and his willpower is almost unbreakable. While a bit eccentric, his mental fortitude has allowed him to overcome every challenge. He’s the best stretchy hero in comics and has proven to be a surprisingly valuable asset to the League.
