After ten seasons of huge popularity, Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things has finished. This means the show’s cast members may face less stable work. Luckily, most of them already have new projects planned, including films and other TV series. While some, like Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, and Noah Schnapp, don’t currently have anything announced, they’re likely to find new roles quickly now that their schedules are open.
We’ve gathered information on the most significant upcoming projects for the main actors from Stranger Things, focusing on what’s planned for 2026. While some release dates are still tentative, most of these projects are expected to be released this year.
10) David Harbour in Avengers: Doomsday

Details about the plot of Avengers: Doomsday are currently scarce, and that’s likely to remain the case for some time.
We can expect to see the Thunderbolts return, including David Harbour as Red Guardian. Given their movie wasn’t a huge success in theaters, fans are wondering how much screen time the team will get. We’ll find out when the movie is released on December 18th, along with many other answers MCU fans are waiting for.
9) Joe Keery in Cold Storage

Cold Storage is a thrilling movie with a similar feel to the 2021 film Black Friday. The story centers around two workers at a storage facility who find a dangerous, shape-shifting microbe hidden among the stored items—a microbe that can take control of people’s minds.
The new sci-fi movie Cold Storage stars Joe Keery, known for his role in Stranger Things, and Georgina Campbell, who recently appeared in Barbarian. The impressive cast also includes Vanessa Redgrave, Sosie Bacon from Smile, and Liam Neeson. It hits theaters on February 13th and looks like a comedy!
8) Charlie Heaton in Twice Over

Twice Over is an Australian romantic drama starring Charlie Heaton, known for his role in Stranger Things, and Mia Wasikowska, who appeared in Alice in Wonderland. The film centers on two people who reconnect and rekindle a past romance.
Production began near the end of 2025, so we likely won’t see the finished film until later in the year. We’ll have to wait and see when it’s released.
7) Finn Wolfhard in New-Gen

While Finn Wolfhard’s character, Mike Wheeler, is central to Stranger Things, the actor doesn’t have many projects lined up at the moment. He’s sparked excitement by suggesting he might reprise his role as Richie Tozier in a future It project, probably the second season of It: Welcome to Derry. Plus, he could be back as Trevor Spengler if a sequel to Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire gets made.
He’s currently filming the comedy Crash Land and will also be voicing a character in an upcoming adaptation of the comic book New-Gen. In fact, there are two New-Gen adaptations in the works: a movie starring Mark Hamill and a TV series featuring Finn Wolfhard, Lena Headey (from Game of Thrones), and Luke Wilson. Neither project has a confirmed release date yet. The New-Gen series has been in development for at least five years, so it’s uncertain if it will be released in 2026.
6) Caleb McLaughlin & David Harbour in Goat

Sony Pictures Animation’s Goat was created with input from NBA star Stephen Curry and follows a small goat with big ambitions to play roarball—a game similar to basketball. The film features excellent animation and is unique for having two actors who previously appeared in the hit show Stranger Things.
Jake McLaughlin stars as Will Harris, and Anthony Harbour plays Archie Everhardt, a rhino who’s also a roarball player. The movie also features the voices of many talented actors, including John Boyega, Nick Kroll, Gabrielle Union, Aaron Pierre, Jennifer Hudson, Patton Oswalt, and Jelly Roll. It hits theaters on February 13th.
5) Gaten Matarazzo in Animal Farm

Gaten Matarazzo, known for playing Dustin Henderson, had a successful 2025 with voice acting roles in Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy and Haunted Hotel. He’s continuing to pursue voice work, and will be featured in an adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm, directed by Andy Serkis, alongside a talented cast.
Okay, so this movie actually first came out way back in June 2025, and people were pretty split on it – some loved it, some didn’t. But it’s getting a proper release on May 1st, which is what I’m excited about! I heard Matarazzo is fantastic as Lucky, and he’s acting alongside Seth Rogen, which is a great pairing. The cast is absolutely stacked too – Kieran Culkin, Glenn Close, Steve Buscemi, Laverne Cox, Woody Harrelson, Kathleen Turner, Jim Parsons, and even Iman Vellani from Ms. Marvel are all in it. Seriously, what a lineup!
4) David Harbour in Violent Night 2

The first Violent Night was a darkly comedic action film that appealed to a specific audience, and now a sequel is on the way, continuing that same exciting world. While details are scarce, it’s safe to assume David Harbour’s Santa will once again be using his signature sledgehammer against some bad guys.
The sequel to Violent Night, titled Violent Night 2, arrives in theaters on December 4th, nearly four years after the first film. This time, most of the original cast won’t be returning, except for David Harbour. Joining the new cast are Daniela Melchior (known for Anaconda), Kristen Bell (Frozen), Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix), and Jared Harris (A House of Dynamite).
3) Millie Bobby Brown in Enola Holmes 3

Look, Millie Bobby Brown is clearly thriving post-Stranger Things. While her days as Eleven might be over, she’s still carrying a successful franchise on her shoulders with Enola Holmes. And with films like Damsel and The Electric State also landing on Netflix, it’s pretty clear to me that, of all the young stars from that show, she’s got the strongest, most fruitful relationship with the streaming giant.
While there isn’t a confirmed release date yet, filming for Enola Holmes 3 finished in late June, according to Millie Bobby Brown. The last movie wrapped up in January 2022 and came out in November, so this new film will likely be released either around the holidays again or sometime in the summer.
2) Maya Hawke in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

Maya Hawke is quickly becoming a major star, and her upcoming roles suggest she’s poised for even greater recognition. She has several exciting projects lined up, including the comedy-drama Wishful Thinking with Lewis Pullman, the adventure comedy Wilder & Me alongside Jon Hamm, and a film called Revolver with her father, Ethan Hawke. She’ll also be starring as the main character in Lucia, a biographical film about James Joyce’s daughter.
Her next big role is in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, where she’ll play a younger version of Wiress, a character previously portrayed by Amanda Plummer in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The film is scheduled for release on November 20th.
1) Sadie Sink in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Although early footage suggests Sadie Sink will play a villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, her exact role remains a mystery. However, it’s clear her character will be significant to the story.
The upcoming film, Brand New Day, essentially restarts the story for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, as he’s now in a situation where no one close to him remembers him. Alongside Holland and Sydney Sweeney, the movie stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Michael Mando, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo. It will be released in theaters on July 31st.
