15 Newly Announced Single-Player Games Coming in 2026 and Beyond

The recent State of Play showed off some exciting new games, but there are also many other promising titles that didn’t get a chance to shine. These games offer fresh ideas and creative designs that we think deserve attention.

That’s precisely our goal! We’re thrilled to share some recently announced titles that promise to make 2026 and beyond incredibly exciting. Let’s dive in!

1. Sons of Sparta

This game was a great surprise, releasing shortly after it was shown at State of Play. If you enjoy intense action, large-scale battles, and a dramatic, over-the-top world, you’ll definitely want to check this out.

This game is a fast-paced 2D platformer where you play as a hero who can travel back in time. You’ll team up with his brother and battle your way forward. It’s known for its challenging platforming and a surprisingly fun combat system that uses spears and shields. Success depends on skillful timing, blocking attacks, and dodging enemies.

2. The Trilogy Remake

The announcement was a pleasant surprise at the show, especially knowing a complete remake is already in development. We’re excited to see how the updated versions will improve the classic gameplay, make things move faster, and enhance the combat, all while preserving the original game’s core experience.

We’re eager to try it as soon as it’s ready, but it seems like development is still in the beginning phases, so it might be some time before that happens.

3. Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse

Joining the Belmonts on a monster hunt is always a thrill, and this adventure, set in a beautifully gothic Paris, is especially captivating. The combat feels incredibly smooth, and the iconic Vampire Killer weapon is back! You’ll also have access to new weapons to help you battle all sorts of terrifying creatures.

We don’t know much about the story yet, but we’re confident Konami and the Dead Cells team will create a compelling narrative that lives up to the series’ legacy.

4. Gothic Remake

We’re really excited about this new version of the game. The developers are putting in a lot of effort to recreate the feel of the original while also updating it with modern features to attract new players.

The development team recently shared a new video detailing how they’re building the character models for their game, and it looks like it’s going to be a great remake of a classic title. What’s even more exciting is that the game is currently planned to launch in 2026.

5. Samson

This story is different – it follows a man in a leather jacket who fights to overcome his debts and protect his family. But it’s not easy, because the city he lives in, Tyndalston, is a tough place where earning an honest living often requires resorting to violence.

Fall behind on payments, and you’ll quickly find yourself in a worse situation, pursued by both legal authorities and dangerous criminals. This fast-paced action game constantly challenges you, providing the tools you need to succeed – but don’t count on any handouts or leniency.

6. Aphelion

We’ve seen many science fiction stories about people leaving Earth to escape dangerous conditions, but Aphelion offers a fresh take. It follows two explorers who are stranded on a possible new planet for humanity after their ship crashes, and one of them is hurt.

This story features two compelling main characters, each with unique strengths, and delves into the heavy weight of responsibility when everything is on the line. It’s likely to be surprisingly emotional.

7. John Wick

Fans will be excited to see Keanu Reeves take on another action-packed video game role, following his performance as Johnny Silverhand. The recent trailer shown at State of Play in February 2026 looks very promising, showcasing his character’s impressive gunplay and fighting skills, much like his portrayal of John Wick.

Saber Interactive appears to be faithfully adapting the character and delivering the exciting, fast-paced action he’s known for in a game we’re really looking forward to – though it may be some time before we can actually play it.

8. Knight’s Path

Everyone says when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But Arlyk, the hero of this Roman action-RPG, takes a different approach: he grabs a sword and goes on a quest for a fresh start and to reclaim his noble status.

This game promises challenging and rewarding sword combat, where skillful play is essential. Combined with a detailed world and interesting characters, it has the potential to be a truly great experience.

9. Kena: Scars of Kosmora

Kena has grown and matured, and she’s eager to use her caring nature to help people in a new place called Kosmora. She’s now a more self-assured guide, committed to assisting both the living and the spirits she encounters as she fulfills her purpose.

This is great news! It means we’ll have more chances to enjoy a story that captures the cleverness and appeal of Bridge of Spirits, combined with a combat system that looks quick, smooth, and genuinely enjoyable.

10. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 2

We’re always excited to play more Metal Gear Solid, and we’re especially happy to have a chance to replay MGS4 on current consoles without needing our old PS3.

We’re excited to play Peace Walker when it releases in August 2026, especially since its online features are still available. This second installment in Konami’s Master Collection is designed for cooperative play, so gather your friends and get ready for a Metal Gear adventure!

11. GreedFall 2: The Dying World 1.0

The highly anticipated prequel to Greedfall is launching this March after a period of early access. Players will once again explore the world of Tree Fradee, where impactful decisions and exciting adventures await those brave enough to seek them out.

If the new game is similar to the last one, we can expect to spend a lot of time discovering that our choices have unexpected results.

12. ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies

This new game feels like the spiritual successor to Disco Elysium and is one of the most intriguing ideas we’ve come across lately. You take on the role of a disgraced ex-spy, now a private investigator, haunted by a mysterious past that led to their removal from the agency.

This story blends a mystery with a journey of reconciliation. You’ll need to carefully consider your choices, all while managing your character’s fragile mental health. It sounds complex, but early impressions suggest the effort will be rewarding.

13. Road to Vostok

This survival game, set in the unforgiving post-apocalyptic world of Vostok, will enter early access in April 2026. One mistake can end your journey, as permadeath looms over every decision you make while playing through the story.

Road to Vostok looks really promising! It has a lively, changing world with realistic weather, dangerous enemies who want to kill you, and plenty of valuable items to find – we’re very excited about it.

14. IKUMA – The Frozen Compass

We love adventures that include a helpful companion, and this one really stood out because of its beautiful art style. You play as Sam, a boy who’s shipwrecked on a remote Arctic island with his faithful dog, Ellie.

This coming-of-age story follows their difficult journey home, where Sam must face his past to secure his future, as they overcome every obstacle in their path.

15. Project Windless

If you enjoyed The Bird That Drinks Tears novels, you’ll likely love this game! It’s an open-world RPG set in the same world, where you play as a large, bird-like character wielding dual blades. Based on the trailer, you’ll face challenging enemies who attack from all sides while completing your mission.

This is a game that we’re eager to play thanks to its focused, single-player experience.

That concludes our preview of the games we’re most excited about for the rest of this year and even into 2027 and beyond. We’ll be sure to share any new details about these titles as soon as we can.
