Panache Digital Games recently revealed its upcoming game, 1666: Amsterdam, with a trailer shown during Summer Game Fest 2026. The trailer, available below, is over 90 seconds long and introduces the game’s story and a preview of the frightening enemies players will encounter.
I’m really into this game, 1666: Amsterdam! It’s an action-adventure where you explore a dark and gritty fantasy world, fighting some seriously creepy enemies. The story is about these ancient beings called the “Originals” who’ve been secretly living in Amsterdam for centuries, slowly gaining power and control. It’s a cool setup!
In this game, you play as Noa Brooklyn, a Collector trained by the Zaindaris to fight against evil forces controlled by powerful beings known as the Originals.
If you’re intrigued by what I’ve told you, the good news is Panache Digital Games has released a free prologue you can play right now on Steam and the Epic Games Store! It’s a little standalone story that gives you a taste of the world, introduces you to some of the characters, and starts to unravel the central mystery of 1666: Amsterdam. It should only take about half an hour to play through, so it’s a perfect way to check it out!
As a huge fan, I was so excited to hear Patrice Désilets talk about the game! He said it’s been a real labor of love for the team – almost 70 developers in Montreal have been working on it for six years. And what’s really cool is they’ve been totally focused on making the game fun, building it up bit by bit. No misleading trailers or demos, just a constantly improving, playable experience. It’s amazing to hear they prioritized that!
We’re excited to finally let players experience a bit of what we’ve been working on! The free prologue, now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, is just a small preview of a much larger game. Think of it as an appetizer before the main course – it’s designed to introduce you to the world, characters, and different eras within the game. We hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we enjoyed making it. Thank you, and enjoy the adventure!
Panache Digital Games has announced that their game, 1666: Amsterdam, will be released on PC as an Early Access title later this year. They also plan to bring the game to consoles, but that will happen at a later time.
