17 Years Later, One Piece Still Can’t Top One Moment

The anime series One Piece is currently wrapping up its main story, and it’s been full of exciting events. This year, the anime covered the Egghead arc, which has been a particularly important and memorable part of the story so far. The arc focuses on Dr. Vegapunk, the series’ most brilliant character, who shares vital secrets before a dramatic conclusion. While the current arc is building to a thrilling climax with intense fights and a moving backstory for the character Kuma, many fans believe that none of the recent moments have been as powerful as a scene from an episode that originally aired over 17 years ago.

Episode 377 of One Piece, titled “My Crewmate’s Pain Is My Pain, Zoro Fights Prepared to Die,” first aired on November 16, 2008, and is still the highest-rated episode on IMDb. With a score of 9.8 based on over 62,000 fan reviews, it consistently ranks above other excellent episodes, even recent ones like Episode 1136, “Kuma’s Life,” which briefly took the lead. This demonstrates the lasting impact of Zoro’s famous “Nothing Happened” scene, which fans continue to consider one of the most powerful moments in the entire series.

Zoro’s Iconic Moment Remains the Best in One Piece

Roronoa Zoro is a hugely popular character in the One Piece series, known for his incredible charisma and cool demeanor – qualities rarely seen even within the anime world. His recent battle against King in Episode 1062 perfectly demonstrates this, becoming the highest-rated One Piece episode on IMDb with over 100,000 reviews and a 9.7/10 score. Unsurprisingly, fans continue to celebrate his iconic “Nothing Happened” scene as one of the coolest moments in the entire show.

Honestly, it’s no surprise everyone loves that scene so much! It’s not just awesome to watch, it really nails how completely devoted Zoro is to Luffy. He’s willing to sacrifice everything – his ambitions, even his life – for his captain, and that kind of loyalty is just incredible, even for One Piece. It’s wild that even something as powerful as Kuma’s story hasn’t topped it in fan polls! I think the only way we’ll see this moment dethroned is if Zoro has another scene of this magnitude, maybe in the final arc of One Piece. If Oda can deliver something equally legendary for him again, then I think it’s possible!
