Secret Character, the team behind Banchou Tactics, is creating a new game called Eternity Breaker. It’s a 2.5D, turn-based roguelike for PC, coming to Steam in 2026, where the skills you learn define your character’s class.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Create a unique character and escape a repeating fate in this 2.5D, turn-based adventure. Your abilities define your class, letting you forge your own path with each playthrough.
A 2.5D Turn-Based Roguelike Skill Builder
Eternity Breaker is a fantasy role-playing game with retro-style pixel art. It’s a turn-based roguelike where you fight your way through a never-ending dungeon, searching for an escape.
In Eternity Breaker, battles are fought using Skills. Each round, the Skills you can use are chosen randomly, and any upgrades to those Skills are also randomized, adding an element of chance to every fight.
Example Skills in the game
Skill types in the game are divided into three main categories:
- Melee (Red)
- Magic (Blue)
- Technical (Green)
Each Skill type functions differently.
Furthermore, the Skills you acquire in battle will also affect the main character’s class.
Classes in this game are divided into 2 types:
- Basic Class – Has additional special techniques.
- High Class – Has an additional ultimate attack.
If you learn two Skills of the Red type, your class will become Warrior. Then, if you learn two Skills of the Blue type, your class will change to Battle Mage.
Or, if you get four Red-type Skills, you will change to the Black Knight class instead.
There are more than 20 classes available in the game.
Battles also include Artifacts and items that let you mix and match combat skills, leading to fresh and varied ways to play every time you start a new game.
