20 Years Later: Eccleston and Piper’s Epic Doctor Who Reunion in New Audio Adventure!

Twenty long years have passed, and it’s simply marvelous news that The Ninth Doctor, portrayed by Christopher Eccleston, and his companion Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper, are back together for another exciting Doctor Who journey!

2005 marked the comeback of Doctor Who on our screens, led by Russell T Davies, and the main cast from that successful revival are teaming up again for a fresh Big Finish audio story. The official teaser has been unveiled.

For enthusiasts who fondly remember the screen appearances of the Ninth Doctor, the trailer for the upcoming adventure titled Doctor Who: Snare offers an exciting trip down memory lane. It portrays the Doctor and Rose as they stumble upon something quite unusual – a vibrant jungle illuminated by neon lights, located within the bathroom of a flat on the Powell Estate.

In addition, scenes feature the Doctor, Rose, and notably Rose’s well-known mom Jackie Tyler (played by Camille Coduri) facing a dreadful creature sporting tentacles. It’s clear that Jackie isn’t thrilled her movie evening was disrupted!

Pre-orders are now open for “Snare,” the debut story in Big Finish’s new series featuring the Ninth Doctor, penned by Tim Foley. It’s set to hit the shelves in August.

Kevin had departed from the Powell Estate quite some time ago, determined not to be confined there. Yet, after many years, he finds himself returning to sort out his father’s old apartment. Fortunately, the Tylers, who live nearby, are still in residence.

However, it seems that Rose now has a mysterious new companion. This stranger will unveil a universe unfamiliar to Kevin. Regrettably, an old force appears to be awakening within the Estate, which may imply that Kevin might become stuck here.

Previously, Eccleston expressed his joy about reconnecting with Piper again to record further stories for the Ninth Doctor: “It feels wonderful to work alongside Billie once more. I believe my Doctor character is incomplete without Rose.

This alien prefers solitude, but in the stories we’ve created, he’s been shown as a lone wanderer. However, what draws me to write about him is his strength, courage, and profound empathy, which are beautifully portrayed by Billie as Rose. They complement each other perfectly.

In the meantime, Piper (recently back on Doctor Who) commented, “There couldn’t be a more fitting moment for Rose to meet up with her initial Doctor than this.

20 years have passed since she initially stepped into the TARDIS for a thrilling journey, now it’s once more, me and Chris, prepared for another bout of excitement as we explore the cosmos – and confront the creatures lurking there – side by side.
