The Epic Games Store is giving away a free PC game on December 22nd, but the offer lasts for about 24 hours. A new game will be available for free on December 23rd. Right now, you can download both a game released in 2020 and a title that was originally only available on Nintendo Switch, completely free from the Epic Games Store.
For the next 24 hours, PC gamers with an Epic Games Store account can get the adventure game Paradise Killer for free. Developed by Kaizen Game Works and published by Fellow Traveler, the game first launched in 2020 and was initially exclusive to PC and Nintendo Switch. It later became available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in 2022.
About the Game
I’ve been hearing a lot about Paradise Killer, and it seems like it really delivered! Critics gave it scores between 81 and 89, which is awesome for a first game from the developers. Plus, Steam users really loved the PC version – 94% of them recommend it, which is pretty incredible.
The game takes place on Paradise, a mysterious island that exists outside of normal reality and reappears every few thousand years. Its inhabitants, a group of humans, are trying to bring back ancient alien gods using psychic energy. However, this power also draws the attention of dangerous demons who ruin the island, forcing a governing body called the Council to create a new reality. While the system isn’t flawless, they aim to perfect it on the next island, ‘Perfect 25.’ But just before the rebirth, the Council is murdered, and Paradise is destroyed. To solve this ultimate crime, Lady Love Dies, a brilliant but eccentric investigator, is brought out of exile to uncover the truth and identify the killer. The central questions are: what really happened, and can the truth even be known?
So, Paradise Killer usually costs around 20 bucks on PC. You’re looking at about 7 to 8 hours of gameplay if you just want to finish the story, but if you’re a completionist like me, you’ll probably spend closer to 12 or 13 hours exploring everything this adventure game has to offer.
