For a limited time – about the next 24 hours – you can download a Nintendo Switch game normally priced at $15 for free from the Nintendo eShop. This is part of No Gravity Games’ Switchmas Giveaway, which started on December 12th and ends December 19th. Each day during the giveaway, a different game is available for free, except for the final day, December 19th, when three games will be offered.
We’ve already given away three free games: Bullets & Brains, Retro Drive: Revamped, and Bubble Trouble Adventures. Here’s how it works: to get each new free game, you need to have already claimed the previous one. The next free game, One True Hero, will be available on December 15th, but you can only get it if you previously claimed Bubble Trouble Adventures. If you haven’t claimed Bubble Trouble Adventures yet, it’s currently on sale for $2.49. Once you get it, you’ll be all set to unlock the rest of the games in the giveaway without needing to make any further purchases. You also need to sign up for the No Gravity Games newsletter to participate.
About the Game
I recently checked out One True Hero, a 3D platformer that came out in 2022 from Rat Cliff Games. It doesn’t have a Metacritic score, but looking at user reviews, it seems like a pretty solid game if you’re into old-school platformers. On Steam, about 73% of 23 reviewers recommend it. A lot of people mention it’s clearly inspired by classics like Ocarina of Time and Spyro the Dragon – it doesn’t quite reach those heights, but it still delivers a fun experience for those of us who love that nostalgic style.
The new game follows a young farmer who unexpectedly becomes the town’s hero. However, the official description asks: can he save the town when he’s struggling with his own problems? As the local hero, players will explore old ruins, fight monsters, and try to figure out why the town is sinking. But the biggest challenge might not be completing these tasks – it’s convincing everyone that he’s a hero worthy of respect.
Players hoping for a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version of this game will be disappointed, but the good news is the original Switch version can still be played on the new console thanks to its backward compatibility feature.
We’d love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum! Also, have you checked out any of the free games available during Switchmas 2025?
