A highly-rated PlayStation 5 game released last year might soon be available on Xbox Series X. While the PS5 is approaching its five-year anniversary, it hasn’t yet delivered the same consistent stream of hit exclusive games that defined the PS4 era. The PS4 had many unforgettable exclusives, but the PS5 hasn’t reached that level yet. Aside from titles like *God of War Ragnarok*, *Astro Bot*, and *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth*, there haven’t been many truly standout games that are only available on PlayStation 5.
It’s safe to say that *Silent Hill 2 Remake* is among the best games you can play exclusively on PlayStation 5. It currently ranks in the top 10 highest-rated PS5 exclusives, and our review was incredibly positive. Only a few PS5 exclusives have received higher scores on Metacritic: *Demon’s Souls Remake*, *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2*, *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach*, and *Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart*. These games aren’t available on Xbox, although *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth* is planned for release on the console sometime in the future. However, *Silent Hill 2* might arrive on Xbox first.
Exclusivity Ending and More
The PlayStation 5 will have exclusive access to *Silent Hill 2* until October 8, 2025. After that, Konami can release the game on other consoles, unless they renew the exclusivity deal. Given that *Silent Hill 2* is a survival-horror game, releasing it on Xbox Series X around Halloween would be a smart move. In fact, it would be a pretty safe bet to expect the game to arrive on Xbox Series X this month.
Bloober Team, the game’s developer, has two empty spaces listed on their website for different gaming platforms. This hints that the game will be released on Xbox Series X and potentially the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
Currently, everything about *Silent Hill 2* coming to Xbox Series X is just rumor, but it seems highly likely. Porting the game to Xbox is relatively straightforward, much easier than it would be for a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2. While we don’t know exactly *when* it might happen – it could be this month, next year, or even further down the line – it becomes a possibility after October 8th. Even if *Silent Hill 2* doesn’t arrive on Xbox this month, Xbox players will still have a lot of other new games to enjoy.
