2025 Horror Movie With 93% on RT Becomes Instant Streaming Hit

In the 2020s, there’s been a notable resurgence of horror movies. One of this year’s major cinema releases has demonstrated that reviving old horror franchises can result in great success. A 2025 horror film that ruled the box office and boasts a fantastic 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes is now a streaming sensation. The movie was recently added to streaming platforms, but it’s already taking over the streaming rankings.

Making its long-awaited streaming premiere on HBO Max, the first installment in fourteen years – Final Destination: Bloodlines – quickly took the lead on the platform’s viewing charts. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the film has maintained its position as the most popular movie globally on HBO Max, according to Flixpatrol data. Remarkably, it outranks even the original Final Destination (2000), which currently holds the second spot. Other titles in the franchise such as Final Destination 2 (2003), Final Destination 5 (2011), and Final Destination 3 (2006) trail behind, occupying the fifth, seventh, and eighth spots respectively.

The television series titled “Bloodlines” features Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Tony Todd, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Brec Bassinger, Anna Lore, and Owen Patrick Joyner. As per the summary, it takes viewers right back to the origins of Death’s skewed notion of justice. When a student from college is tormented by a recurring nightmare of a violent nature, she goes back home in search of her grandmother, who may hold the key to ending this cycle and saving her family from the impending, gruesome fate that seems unavoidable for all of them.

Among the top-tier horror franchises, “Final Destination” stands out, and the newest addition by New Line Cinema, titled “Bloodlines“, is already making waves within the series of five films. With an impressive 93% approval from critics and 87% satisfaction among audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, “Bloodlines” has surpassed all other films in the franchise as the highest-rated movie, marking the first time any film in the series has achieved fresh ratings in both categories. The next best is “Final Destination 5“, which earned a fresh rating from critics with a 64% score but was deemed rotten by audiences, scoring a mere 53%.

Made with a budget of $50 million, the movie “Bloodlines” holds the record for the highest earnings within its franchise. Since its premiere in May 2025, it has earned an impressive $285.3 million at the box office, significantly outperforming “The Final Destination” (2009) which made $186 million globally. In comparison, the original film only managed to gross $112 million.

Bloodlines is now streaming on HBO Max alongside the complete Final Destination film collection.
