The PC game *Pathologic 3: Quarantine* is being removed from sale. Developer Ice-Pick Lodge announced on September 23rd that it would be gone from stores “in a couple of weeks,” and it’s likely to disappear this week. The reason? It’s a preview of the full *Pathologic 3* game, which is scheduled to come out later this year.

Since its launch, *Pathologic 3: Quarantine* has earned 1,319 reviews, with an impressive 88% being positive. This gives the game a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, which is the second-highest rating possible. Interestingly, other Steam games offered for free temporarily have sometimes seen *lower* review scores, suggesting that free access doesn’t always guarantee positive feedback.
The game is a story-focused adventure taking place in a town devastated by a strange disease. You play as a young doctor on a quest for immortality. It’s essentially a prequel to the upcoming *Pathologic 3*, which continues the story of *Pathologic 2* (2019) and the original *Pathologic* from 2005. While not a widely known series, *Pathologic* has a dedicated fanbase, allowing the developers, Ice-Pick Lodge, to create three games in the series.
