While Resident Evil is famous for being scary, it’s not the only video game series to give players a fright. Throughout gaming history, many titles have featured terrifying creatures – from zombies and ghosts to aliens and more – that have spooked players around the globe. Silent Hill, created by Konami, is another popular horror franchise known for combining shocking imagery with deep psychological fear. Now, the latest Silent Hill game has been adapted into a manga, continuing the story and bringing the horror to a new audience in East Asia.
The first chapter of the Silent Hill f manga is now available in Kadokawa’s Young Ace Up magazine! Illustrated by Ame Gokin and featuring a new ending written by the game’s original writer, Ryukishi07, the manga’s total length is still unknown. You can read the first chapter here [link provided]. Currently, the chapter is only available in Japanese, and there’s no announcement yet about an English translation or release in Western countries. Given how popular the game is in North America, an American release may happen in the future.
Silent Hill Expands

Kadokawa has provided a detailed overview of this manga, which returns to the eerie setting of Ebisugaoka, a small town nestled in the mountains. The story centers on Hinako Fukamizu, a student feeling lost and unsure of her future. One day, while chatting with her classmates at their favorite candy shop, her ordinary life is shattered by the appearance of a terrifying creature. This is the latest installment in the popular psychological horror series, now adapted into a comic with a brand new ending, illustrated by Ryukishi07.
It’s currently unknown whether the new Silent Hill f manga could lead to an anime adaptation, but many believe it would translate well to animation. For those unfamiliar with the story, Silent Hill f takes place in a foggy Japanese village where teenagers face terrifying creatures and personal demons. Given the current demand for more horror anime, the Silent Hill franchise could be a great addition to the genre.
The future looks promising for the Silent Hill series, as Konami is developing several new games set in this famously creepy world. Building on the positive reception of Silent Hill f, Silent Hill: Townfall is scheduled to launch later this year, and a complete remake of the original Silent Hill game is also underway.
