The anime series *The Beginning After the End*, which sparked a lot of debate when it first aired, is coming back for a second season next year. A new trailer has just been released. While several anime adaptations faced criticism this year, this series received particularly negative attention, even prompting the creator to respond to fan concerns.
Fans strongly disliked the first season of *The Beginning After the End*, and even started a petition asking for a reboot. However, instead of restarting, the anime is moving forward with a second season, planned for release next spring. A new trailer for Season 2 was revealed at Crunchyroll’s New York Comic Con 2025 presentation, giving fans a preview of what’s to come next year.
The Beginning After the End Season 2 Premieres Spring 2026
Season 2 of *The Beginning After the End* is expected to arrive in Spring 2026, though an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet. New episodes will be available to stream exclusively on Crunchyroll, which also has the first season available. While details haven’t been confirmed, it’s likely many of the same people who worked on Season 1 will be involved, with studio A-CAT continuing to lead production.
During New York Comic Con 2025, TurtleMe, the creator of *The Beginning After the End*, shared that Season 2 will include larger-scale battles, new enemies, and a completely original storyline developed with Studio A-CAT. When the new season was first announced, TurtleMe expressed gratitude to everyone involved, noting that writing *The Beginning After the End* had been a long, solo journey before this collaborative effort.
Is TBATE Season 2 Going to Be Better?

The creator explained that things have changed. As the series has evolved, their team has grown so much that they can’t imagine trying to create it alone. The anime adaptation required an even bigger team, and with so many complex pieces to manage, they’re amazed they were able to complete it. This new season will showcase the benefits of having such a large and capable team.
The anime series *The Beginning After the End* faced a lot of discussion upon its release, with a petition gaining over 50,000 signatures from fans who wished a different animation studio had worked on it. Despite this fan feedback, the creators are moving forward with their original vision. Hopefully, the new episodes, set to premiere next spring, will be well-received.
