Superman really had a moment last year, and it makes me wonder when Wonder Woman will get the same level of focus. As a big Superman fan, I was thrilled to see all the attention he received in 2025. DC Comics really went all-in with initiatives like the Summer of Superman and by making Clark the main character in DC K.O.. It made sense to heavily promote him with the reboot, but I’m hoping DC will give another hero that same kind of boost.
In the DC Universe, Batman and Superman are consistently highlighted, forming the core of its popularity. While Batman receives ongoing attention and Superman had a big push last year, Wonder Woman hasn’t gotten the same level of focus. She hasn’t headlined many comics or major storylines recently. With Superman set to receive significant attention in 2025, it’s time for DC Comics to give Wonder Woman, another of its most important characters, a similar boost.
Wonder Woman is Overdue for a Push Like the Summer of Superman

Wonder Woman is a vital part of the DC Universe and the superhero world in general. However, she hasn’t always received the same level of promotion as Batman or Superman, who often have multiple ongoing comic series at once. Wonder Woman typically only has one main title. Historically, this was due to lower sales numbers, but that’s changing. With the success of Absolute Wonder Woman, which is currently outselling many comics led by male characters, things are looking up.
Wonder Woman’s popularity is clear – Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman’s comic consistently ranked among the top 10 bestsellers throughout 2025, even surpassing sales of the main Wonder Woman title by Tom King and Daniel Sampere. While the overall ‘Absolute’ initiative helped, Absolute Wonder Woman succeeded because it’s a well-crafted story that truly captures the essence of the character. It proves that Wonder Woman can thrive when the creative team understands what makes her so iconic.
Predicting what comic book fans will love is always tricky. However, it was clear in 2025 that there’s a strong demand for Wonder Woman stories, and fans will definitely support quality content. While Wonder Woman is planned to appear in James Gunn’s DC Universe eventually, DC Comics shouldn’t wait for a new movie to start promoting her. They should capitalize on the current excitement and give Wonder Woman fans what they want right now.
Wonder Woman is Long Overdue for the Spotlight

It’s clear that the recent focus on Superman was heavily connected to his new film. We can expect a similar boost for Wonder Woman when her movie is released, to take advantage of the excitement. However, why wait? There’s a large and dedicated fanbase eager for more Wonder Woman stories, including those featuring characters like Yara Flor and Cassie Sandsmark. As one of DC’s core characters, Wonder Woman deserves more attention now, and doesn’t need to rely on a movie to get it.
I understand DC Comics won’t likely invest in Wonder Woman without a clear reason, especially since her sales haven’t traditionally matched those of Batman or Superman. However, I believe focusing on compelling creative work around her character is the key to attracting fans. The success of ‘Absolute Wonder Woman’ demonstrates that people enjoy Diana; they just need a strong incentive to get invested. If DC committed to new books or a fresh creative direction for her, it could be incredibly successful.
DC likely has exciting plans for 2026, and Wonder Woman fans will probably continue to see good stories. However, given how iconic Wonder Woman is, it’s time she received a major focus, similar to the dedicated summer Superman received last year. As DC starts the new year, they should really consider the strong fan demand for more Wonder Woman and how positively fans would react to a big push for her.
