Early reviews are in for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the newest film in the 28 Days Later horror series. This fourth installment, a direct sequel to 2024’s 28 Years Later, hits theaters on January 16, 2026. Alex Garland, who wrote both 28 Days and 28 Years, wrote the screenplay, and Nia DaCosta (known for Candyman) directed the movie.
The new film, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, will bring back several characters from the last movie. This includes the return of Dr. Kelson (played by Ralph Fiennes), the dangerous Alpha Infected Samson (Chi Lewis-Parry), cult leader Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), and both Spike (Alfie Williams) and his father, Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
People who saw advance screenings of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple can now share their initial thoughts without revealing spoilers. While not everyone loved it, most reactions to the horror sequel have been very positive. You can find a collection of reactions from social media below.
