Astrolabe Games will publish the action game Onikura, developed by Too Dark Games. The game, a 2D platformer focused on boss battles, is scheduled to release on PC via Steam in the latter half of 2026.

About
Onikura is a fast-paced 2D platformer where you fight boss after boss. It focuses on quick attacks and perfectly timed parries.
Each fight is a struggle to stay alive. You must attack, defend, recover health, and collect souls to power the Samuraiās special abilities. Every move matters, and a single mistake could be your last.
With each win, you’ll decide where to go next and become more powerful. But be warned ā as you grow stronger, your enemies will become even more dangerous.
Story
Ever since Onis emerged from the underworld, the land has suffered constant misfortune. Even when one was killed, it wasn’t a true end ā its spirit would simply inhabit another body, continuing the relentless cycle of destruction.
Even in the darkest times, a miraculous Sakura tree appeared. Said to be blessed by the gods, this sacred tree has the power to trap and contain the spirits of Oni, preventing them from ever returning. This incredible event became known as Onikura.
The Oni remained a threat, so courageous fighters from across the land armed themselves and journeyed to defeat them, hoping to offer their spirits to the sacred Sakura tree. However, no one ever came backāexcept for a single warrior.
You are Tensai, the last of the Onikura Samuraiāa powerful warrior connected to the divine Sakura tree. You wield the only sword that can defeat the remaining demons, trap their evil spirits, and finally break the endless cycle of conflict.
Gameplay
When an Oni is sealed, the sacred Sakura tree cleanses its spirit, turning it into an Omamoriāa charm that grants Tensai special powers.
Before each battle, you can mix and match Omamori to create a unique fighting style. Will you focus on perfect defense, risk everything for powerful attacks, or use spiritual power to manipulate the battlefield from a distance?
There is no ultimate buildāonly your path as the true Onikura Samurai.
Art Style
Onikura boasts beautifully detailed, hand-drawn pixel art and blends the grace of ancient Japan with a dark, post-apocalyptic setting.
Battles against the Oni take place in unique locations ā crumbling shrines, destroyed villages, and cherry blossom groves stained with battle. Each Oni has a personal story, and with your courage and skill, you alone can determine the worldās destiny beneath the sacred Sakura Tree.
