I’ve noticed that a lot of anime really shine with their endings, especially those that only have one season. But it’s much harder to create a satisfying conclusion when a show runs for multiple seasons, so the ones that do nail it are truly impressive. It’s tough to end any story well, no matter the format, and the longer a series goes on, the more difficult it becomes to wrap everything up nicely. That’s why even hugely popular anime like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto Shippuden sometimes get criticized for how they ended, despite being classics.
Many popular anime series are still being made, like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Spy x Family, and The Apothecary Diaries, so it’s too early to judge whether they’ll have satisfying conclusions. In fact, very few anime manage to create a truly great final season. Most acclaimed endings come from shows with only one short story (Cowboy Bebop, Odd Taxi) or a single, unbroken run (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood). It’s rare for a long-running series, with breaks between seasons, to finish strongly.
3) My Hero Academia

The final season of My Hero Academia aired in December, bringing the popular anime series to an end with a surprisingly satisfying conclusion. While the manga’s ending received mixed reactions – and I wasn’t entirely happy with it myself – the anime adaptation feels much more impactful. In fact, I’d say this final season is almost flawless, beautifully completing the story and powerfully conveying the series’ core themes. It’s packed with exciting action as the heroes face their ultimate challenge, and it ends on a hopeful, yet realistic, note, acknowledging the struggles Deku and his friends have overcome.
2) Mob Psycho 100

Mob Psycho 100’s third and final season is a fantastic conclusion to an already incredible anime. It expertly blends the show’s thoughtful story about growing up with its exciting supernatural action. The adaptation of key moments from the manga, like the God Dimple arc, is particularly well done, creating action sequences that are both thrilling and visually impressive. The emotional moments are just as powerful, especially as Mob confronts his inner demons. Overall, this final season solidifies Mob Psycho 100’s place among the best anime ever made.
1) Attack on Titan

While it’s sparked a lot of debate, I believe the final season of Attack on Titan is truly exceptional – all four parts of it. Though the ending has divided fans, it feels like the only logical conclusion for the story. The final chapters powerfully reinforce the anime’s themes about violence, humanity, and repeating patterns, and provide a fitting, grand conclusion that builds on everything established in Season 4. It’s packed with stunning animation, satisfying references to earlier moments, and meaningful character development. It delivers everything you’d hope for in a finale and doesn’t deserve the negativity it receives.
