It’s only been a couple of weeks since Hytale launched, but the modding community is already thriving! Given that the game’s creators are themselves modders, it’s no surprise so many people are working to customize and improve the game. Modders have quickly created and shared their work, and after spending a lot of time playing ourselves, we’ve picked out three Hytale mods that really enhance the experience. Here they are, in no specific order.
1) Macaw’s Mods

If you’ve played modified Minecraft, you’re probably familiar with Sketch Macaw. They’ve brought a similar approach to Hytale, creating a collection of mods instead of just one. These mods add a wide range of decorative and stylistic improvements, including options for windows, fences, walls, stairs, lighting, holiday decorations, doors, furniture, bridges, roofs, paths, and more. There are also specialized additions like carpets, paintings, and items for the TFC mod. You can find all of these mods, including the playfully named “Not Enough Poops,” on CurseForge.
2) Simply Trash

When Hytale first launched, it was known to still be under development, and that’s noticeable when you play. However, it’s a polished game that already includes a ton of features – lots of different tools, weapons, creatures, and more. One feature it lacked was a simple trash system, but the modder Jaredlll08 quickly fixed that with the “Simply Trash” mod. This mod adds a craftable trash can, letting you easily get rid of unwanted items. This makes managing your inventory much simpler, so you don’t have to awkwardly throw things off cliffs to discard them. You can find Simply Trash on CurseForge.
3) Item Magnet

Let me tell you about a fantastic mod for Hytale called Item Magnet. It solves a surprisingly annoying problem: picking up all those dropped items from monsters, trees, and breaking blocks. It’s easy to miss stuff, especially when you’re fighting over water or in a tight spot! This mod, created by Jaredlll08, basically zaps all those drops directly to you – a huge time saver. You craft a magnet at a Workbench, and you can even tweak how far and how fast it pulls items in through the config file. It’s super customizable! If you’re tired of leaving loot behind, definitely check out Item Magnet on CurseForge. It makes resource gathering so much smoother.
