With a fresh month underway, Prime Video is adding a bunch of great movies, giving subscribers plenty to choose from for their weekend viewing. Three titles really stand out for an action-packed movie marathon. I recently highlighted Mercy, I Saw the TV Glow, and Pretty Lethal – each offering something different in terms of genre – as top picks on Prime Video.
I noticed Prime Video has added a lot of great action movies recently. That got me thinking about putting together a list – a three-movie marathon, if you will – perfect for a thrilling Easter weekend at home.
3. Crime 101 (2026)
Currently, the most popular movie on Prime Video, both in the US and globally, is Crime 101. While it only earned $72.3 million in theaters despite a $90 million budget, viewers are now discovering how exciting the film truly is from the comfort of their homes.
Featuring a talented cast including Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, and Barry Keoghan, Crime 101 centers around a jewel thief named Mike (Hemsworth) attempting a final score, while detective Lou (Ruffalo) tries to stop him. The film promises exciting action and unexpected turns, and it’s currently earning high praise with an 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
2. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025)
As a huge fan of the Mission: Impossible films, I have to say Tom Cruise has done it again! Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning feels like a really epic conclusion to Ethan Hunt’s story. If you’re already invested in this franchise – and honestly, who isn’t? – prepare to be on the edge of your seat! There are so many moments in this movie that genuinely surprised and moved me, it’s a game-changer for sure.
As a huge fan of the Mission: Impossible series, I was on the edge of my seat with The Final Reckoning. Basically, Ethan and his team are in a desperate fight against this incredibly powerful AI – called the Entity – that wants to reshape the world. It sounds complicated, but it delivers a thrilling, non-stop action experience. Seriously, the stunts are insane – only Tom Cruise could do that! – and the movie is packed with great moments for longtime fans, bringing back familiar faces and referencing things from earlier films. It’s a fantastic conclusion to the story so far.
1. Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant (2023)
We finished our weekend of movies on Prime Video with Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant. Ritchie is a key director for the streaming service, having also created the popular show Young Sherlock. The Covenant is a moving story that explores the realities of war and the powerful connections people make during difficult times.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays John Kinley, a U.S. Army Master Sergeant who barely survives a Taliban attack. Back home, he feels compelled to help Ahmed, his Afghan interpreter, who repeatedly saved his life and once carried him to safety. Ahmed and his family are now in hiding and facing danger.
He returns to Afghanistan on a risky mission to help a man and his family escape to the United States. If you’re looking for a compelling war film, a powerful story, or simply thrilling action, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant delivers. These three Prime Video movies offer a gripping weekend of entertainment that will keep you hooked.
