3 Naruto Jutsu Styles That Deserve Way More Focus In The Series

The Naruto universe is full of amazing and powerful abilities, ranging from explosive elemental attacks to complex illusions and special skills unique to each clan. While some techniques, like the famous Rasengan and Chidori, were used often and helped shape Naruto’s journey, others weren’t explored as much, even though they had great potential. These less-used abilities are interesting because of how they work, the strategies they offer, and the rich backstory they provide – all of which could have made the series’ many fights and character stories even more compelling.

The shinobi world has so many different techniques that it’s likely many amazing and unique fighting styles were only seen for a short time, leaving fans curious about how powerful they really were and who the skilled ninja were that used them.

3) Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death

Kurenai Yūhi is known for a particularly frightening genjutsu – an illusion technique that traps opponents as if they’re bound by a tree, leaving them vulnerable to attack. Because she’s one of the few skilled illusionists in Konoha, this technique could have been a great starting point to explore genjutsu beyond those relying on the Sharingan ability.

I’ve always been fascinated by Kurenai’s genjutsu! It seems her whole fighting style is about instantly trapping opponents, and I really wish we’d seen more of it. Imagine if the series had explored how she actually does it, what weaknesses it has against other techniques, or even how she’s improved it over the years. Honestly, focusing more on Kurenai and her unique abilities could have been a really cool contrast to all the raw power and physical fighting we usually see. It would have been something totally different!

2) Wind Scythe

Temari is renowned for her incredible wind-based techniques, considered the best of their kind outside of those using tailed beasts. Her signature move, the Wind Scythe, uses a large fan to create incredibly strong, slicing winds capable of cutting through stone and deflecting attacks. This versatile, long-range attack allows Temari to control the battlefield, keeping opponents away and demonstrating a unique, large-scale ninja ability.

This technique’s raw power and strategic uses, along with Temari’s overall fighting style, were ripe for further exploration. The idea of channeling and boosting elemental energy through such a large, one-of-a-kind weapon is unique to her character. Showing the range of Temari’s power – from soft gusts of wind to incredibly strong tornadoes – and the intense training needed to control it all would have created compelling stories.

1) Black Secret Technique

Kankuro’s fighting style, the Black Secret Technique, revolves around using his puppets to defeat opponents. He first traps them with Kuroari, then finishes them off with the more aggressive Karasu. This technique combines clever tactics, poison, and hidden blades for a unique and deadly approach to combat.

Kankuro’s fighting style is unique because he doesn’t have to directly fight his opponents. He’s skilled at using multiple puppets, each customized with different weapons and features, giving him many options during a battle. The story could have explored this skill further by showing more complex puppet teamwork or the creation of new, specialized puppets, which would have enriched the history of this rare ability in the Sand Village.
