Okay, huge spoiler warning for anyone who’s not caught up with the One Piece manga! But seriously, Shanks is amazing. He’s not just a fan favorite – and trust me, the fans love him – but his power level is insane. Very few people would even think about taking him on, except maybe someone totally wild like Eustass Kid. Even among the strongest pirates, the Emperors, most people see Shanks as being on another level entirely. He’s been a key figure since the very beginning – he’s Luffy’s hero, the one who gave him the straw hat and set him on this pirate journey. And with everything we’ve learned in the Elbaph Arc flashbacks, it’s clear just how important he is to the whole story and how unbelievably powerful he truly is.

Fans often consider him the most powerful character in the series, pointing to his unmatched combination of Conqueror’s Haki and incredible swordsmanship. Despite the manga running for over 28 years, Shanks remains enigmatic, though his backstory is now being revealed. While his full power is still unknown, there are three characters who potentially have a chance of defeating him.

3) Dracule Mihawk

The question of who would win in a fight between Shanks and Mihawk is a long-standing debate among fans, with no clear answer. Although Mihawk is known as the World’s Strongest Swordsman, Shanks has shown he’s incredibly powerful and could easily win. They fought years ago, and the battles were said to end without a winner, so the discussion continues to this day.

While we haven’t seen Mihawk’s full power yet, he’s potentially strong enough to beat Shanks. However, a fight between them would likely be very close, and either one could win depending on the situation.

2) Marshall D. Teach

Blackbeard, also known as Teach, is a major antagonist in the story and has been a long-time rival of Shanks. He’s the one who scarred Shanks’ face, though the details of their fight are still a mystery. Many fans believe Shanks will ultimately be defeated by Blackbeard, similar to how Ace was overpowered.

Blackbeard is an incredibly dangerous opponent thanks to his possession of two powerful Devil Fruits and mastery of Haki. Although it’s unclear exactly how strong he is compared to others, his willingness to do anything to achieve his goals gives him a significant edge.

1) Imu

Imu is likely the main antagonist of the series, and has already shown incredible power, particularly during the Elbaph Arc. They can control people from a distance, turning them into puppets even from within Pangea Castle. Notably, even powerful figures like Rocks D. Xebec and King Harald were unable to resist Imu’s control.

This suggests Shanks would likely face a similar outcome if he ever battled him. Furthermore, the only way to challenge the villain is to get inside Pangea Castle.
