3 Perfect Picks for Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Mystery New Character

Fans are eagerly anticipating Tramell Tillman’s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, though his role remains a mystery. The movie, set to release on July 31, 2026, will star Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo as Spider-Man, the Punisher, and the Hulk. Joining them will be returning cast members Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Michael Mando, alongside new additions Liza Colón-Zayas, Sadie Sink, and Tramell Tillman – all in currently unknown roles.

Tramell Tillman, known for his roles as the mysterious Seth Milchick in Severance and Captain Bledsoe in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is now joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Marvel announced in late August that Tillman will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, though his specific role remains a secret. Fans are excited about the possibilities, as he’d be a great fit for many existing Spider-Man characters from the Marvel comics.

3) Miles Warren’s Jackal

First appearing in 1965’s *The Amazing Spider-Man #31*, Miles Warren has grown into a major and formidable enemy of Spider-Man. With rumors that Gwen Stacy will appear in the new *Spider-Man* movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), now would be an ideal time to introduce Warren. Actor Bill Tillman has already demonstrated his ability to play dark and complex characters, making him a strong candidate to portray the Jackal in the MCU. In the Marvel comics, Warren has an obsessive and unhealthy fixation on Gwen Stacy, which would create a natural conflict with the MCU’s version of Peter Parker.

The Jackal, known for complex cloning plots in Marvel comics, would be an exciting and unexpected character to add to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Introducing him could open the door to other Spider-Man characters like Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker. An MCU portrayal could focus on Miles Warren’s origins as a scientist specializing in genetics and biochemistry. As a classic Spider-Man villain, bringing the Jackal to life would be a great move, particularly because he connects the more realistic, local Spider-Man stories with the larger, multiverse-spanning adventures.

2) Robbie Robertson

There’s a strong chance Peter Parker will be back to working as a photographer for the Daily Bugle in the upcoming *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* story arc, earning money after seemingly being erased from everyone’s memory. This could introduce a lot of new characters from the newspaper into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Joseph “Robbie” Robertson. Robertson, who first appeared in *The Amazing Spider-Man #51* back in 1967, was a key editor at the Bugle and a close friend of J. Jonah Jameson (played by J.K. Simmons). It would be fantastic to see that relationship play out in the MCU.

Tramell Tillman could make history by playing Robbie Robertson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robbie Robertson was a groundbreaking character in Marvel comics – one of the first Black characters in a significant, non-comedic supporting role. The part would allow Tillman to showcase a new side of his acting, as Robbie is a friend and ally to Spider-Man, but also has ties to the villain Tombstone. Casting Tillman would be an excellent way to enrich Spider-Man’s world and introduce a complex, compelling character.

1) Jefferson Davis

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I’m really hoping Tramell Tillman gets cast as Jefferson Davis, Miles Morales’ dad, in a future Marvel movie. We’ve already met Miles’ uncle, Aaron Davis (played by Donald Glover), in both the live-action *Spider-Man: Homecoming* and the animated *Across the Spider-Verse*, so it would be amazing to see Jefferson show up next. I think Tillman has the perfect vibe to play the supportive and calming presence that Jefferson is known for, and I’d love to see him bring that warmth to the MCU. He’s already shown hints of that in other roles, and I think the MCU could really let him shine.

Although there haven’t been any official announcements, Miles Morales could be the next Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Tom Holland hinting he might not play Peter Parker forever, now is a good time to introduce Miles. A smart way to do this would be to first introduce his family – his parents, Jefferson and Rio Davis, and other relatives – to build him up as a key character. Casting Tramell Tillman as police captain Jefferson Davis would be a fantastic choice.
