3 Recently Released Games That You Could Spend 100s of Hours Playing Without Getting Bored One Bit

How long a video game *should* be is really a matter of personal preference. Some gamers enjoy long, immersive experiences, while others who want to play lots of new releases prefer shorter games. Ideally, though, most players want a game that’s so engaging they can play it for hundreds of hours without losing interest. Games with ongoing updates – often called ‘live service’ games – definitely fit that bill, as they constantly offer fresh content. But even games without constant updates can be incredibly addictive, offering so much to explore and discover that you simply don’t want to stop playing.

2025 has been packed with exciting game releases. Although *GTA 6* wasn’t released as planned this year, several highly anticipated titles have arrived. While games like *Silksong* are gaining popularity, these three recent releases stand out for offering tons of replay value and staying engaging for hours on end. If you’re searching for a new game that will keep you entertained for a long time, here are my top picks.

3. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Games described as “roguelike” are often very replayable because they offer lots of upgrades, and each attempt feels fresh with new challenges and abilities. When you add a compelling gameplay loop and plenty of unlockable content, you get a game that’s easy to lose yourself in for hours. *Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor* definitely delivers on this, with waves of alien bugs to automatically shoot and eliminate.

Several excellent roguelikes came out this year, including *Hades 2*. However, I’m choosing *Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor* as my favorite. It doesn’t have much of a story, which makes it a relaxing and simple game. It never feels truly complete – there’s always another wave of enemies to defeat and resources to gather. Best of all, at only $12.99, it offers incredible value for the amount of playtime you get.

2. Monster Hunter: Wilds

The *Monster Hunter* series is famous for being incredibly long, and the latest game continues that tradition. Players can expect to spend many hours hunting monsters, improving their gear, and leveling up all the way to the maximum Hunter Rank of 999.

While the core story of *Monster Hunter Wilds* takes around 30-40 hours to complete, the game offers a lot of optional content to keep players engaged. Regular updates with new monsters and events are also planned, ensuring there’s always something to do. Even months after its February release, the game still attracts over 70,500 players on Steam regularly, proving that fans are dedicated to the world and aren’t likely to stop playing anytime soon.

Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered

I’ve spent more time playing *Skyrim* than any other game, and it’s safe to say many others feel the same way. The Elder Scrolls series is known for its immersive worlds, filled with tons of side quests and hidden secrets that keep you playing for hours. The recently updated *Oblivion Remastered* continues that tradition.

Completing the main story of the game will take most players over 100 hours, but rushing through an Elder Scrolls game isn’t really the point. You can easily spend hundreds of hours exploring the world of Cyrodiil without getting tired of it. While it’s not *Skyrim*, *Oblivion Remastered* is definitely offering a lot of playtime for its 2025 release.
