Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and its digital platform, Shonen Jump+, are always popular with manga fans. But recently, things have become more competitive, especially with the rise of digital manga making it easier for people to read. This means lots of new series are launched every year, but many don’t last long. Often, series in Weekly Shonen Jump will run for about a year before the publisher cancels them if they aren’t successful.
In the past, some manga series haven’t even reached 18 or 19 chapters before being canceled. While Shonen Jump+ has been quick to cancel series this year, the main Weekly Shonen Jump magazine hasn’t canceled many. The two series canceled from Weekly Shonen Jump didn’t even make it to their first published volume, but one of the series canceled from Shonen Jump+ will release its second volume this year. These manga’s release dates are currently only confirmed for Japan, and it’s still unknown if they will be published in English.
3) Kaedegami

Kaedegami initially gained popularity, but readership declined quickly. The manga concluded with chapter 17 and the final volume will be released on November 4, 2025. It’s a historical fantasy series set in a world plagued by dangerous demons called Shenguai. The story centers on Kou, an orphaned boy living in the mountains with Chiyou, a Shenguai war god haunted by a dark history. Despite her monstrous nature, she has earned Kou’s complete trust, and he’s determined to protect her no matter what.
2) Waiting For the Sunlight

This short manga, originally published on Shonen Jump+, ran for just 15 chapters and has already had its first collected volume released. The second and final volume is scheduled to come out on December 4th, 2025. Created to mark the 80th anniversary of World War II, the story takes place in the summer of 1940 and centers on Yoko Matsubara, a gifted young potter living in Shigaraki, Japan. She’s dedicated to following her passion, unaware of the difficult times ahead.
1) Ekiden Bros

The final chapter of Ekiden Bros, chapter 17, will be released on October 26, 2025, with the first collected volume arriving on November 4th. This manga centers on Nobunaga, a student inspired by the Tokyo-Hakune College Ekiden race – a tradition he watched with his mother, who managed a dormitory for marathon runners. Though he loves sports, Nobunaga avoids joining teams, worried about letting his father down. However, a disagreement with a childhood friend and a spontaneous ten-kilometer race reignite his passion for running.
