Din Djarin, the main character in The Mandalorian, stands out from other Star Wars bounty hunters. Unlike them, who will work for anyone with enough money, Din has a strong sense of right and wrong. When he discovers the Empire wants to harm Grogu through experiments, he immediately turns against them, leading to a conflict with Moff Gideon and his forces. This battle has been a central part of the Disney+ series, and it’s expected to escalate even further in the upcoming movie, Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Lucasfilm is being secretive about the plot of its upcoming movie to preserve the element of surprise. However, it’s likely the film will continue the storyline established in shows created by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, featuring beloved characters from the Star Wars universe. Here are three Star Wars characters who should cross paths with the Mandalorian soon to help move the overall story forward.
3) Hera Syndulla

Fans of Star Wars Rebels will be excited to see the crew of the Ghost return in a new Disney+ series focusing on Ahsoka Tano and reuniting her with familiar faces. However, Ahsoka misses a chance to connect with Din Djarin, whom she met during events in The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. This oversight leaves her short-handed when she embarks on a mission to a different universe to find and rescue Ezra Bridger.
Now that Ahsoka and Sabine are lost in a different galaxy, Hera Syndulla, a New Republic general, is facing a tough challenge and will need assistance. Din Djarin is in a similar predicament, as the remnants of the Empire are pursuing him and Grogu – and that likely means Grand Admiral Thrawn will soon be after them too. With Din and Hera teaming up, the heroes have a better chance of avoiding past errors, and it sets the stage for exciting space battles thanks to their impressive piloting skills.
2) Ezra Bridger

At the conclusion of Star Wars: Ahsoka, Ezra and Hera are happily reunited after being separated for years. But their reunion will be short-lived, as they quickly face new challenges and battles. Hera will likely depend on Ezra’s skills as a Jedi, since there aren’t many left. However, she needs to remember that a Force user working with a Mandalorian can be a powerful and dangerous combination.
Ezra and Din have different personalities – Ezra’s much more optimistic – but they’re a powerful team against the Empire. Ezra could also teach Grogu some new skills he learned in another galaxy. Though he’s not Luke Skywalker, Ezra might be more dedicated to the fight than the current leader of the Jedi Order.
1) Mon Mothma

Unlike many Star Wars shows filled with quick appearances from familiar faces, Andor dives deep into the gritty beginnings of the Rebellion and the immense effort required to oppose the Empire. A key character is Mon Mothma, who risks everything by publicly challenging Emperor Palpatine, ultimately paving the way for her role as a leader in both the Rebellion and the future New Republic.
Although Mon Mothma currently faces limitations, as shown in her recent meeting in Ahsoka, she remains a powerful ally. Having a direct line to her could allow Din Djarin to act more freely, knowing support—and X-Wings—are readily available when needed.
