With its huge popularity, Jujutsu Kaisen continues to deliver new content to fans even after the main story concluded over a year ago. The manga, created by Gege Akutami and first published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018, became a sensation after the anime premiered in 2020. 2023 was a particularly exciting year, featuring the second season of the anime and a pivotal return in the manga as the strongest characters clashed. While some felt the manga’s ending was too fast-paced, it didn’t diminish the series’ overall popularity.
As a fan, I’ve been really enjoying 2025 ā there’s been a lot of news about Season 3 and a movie covering the Shibuya Incident. The movie will even include the first two episodes of the new season! Since the anime hasnāt covered everything in the original story yet, it looks like weāll be getting new content for a few years to come. It’s great to know the creator has so much room to add to the world with sequels and spin-offs too. Now, as the year ends, everyone’s looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings for the series.
3) More Announcements Regarding Spin-Offs and New Projects
This year in September, the official Twitter account for Jujutsu Kaisen announced a new spin-off novel written by popular horror author Yumeaki Hirayama. Although details are still scarce, fans wonāt have to wait more than a year for more information. In addition to updates on the novel, expect other exciting news about the series each year, as thereās always something new for fans to enjoy.
2) Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Will End Next Year
Fans were surprised in September 2025 with a sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, created by the original author, Gege Akutami, with art by Yuji Iwasaki. The story is set 68 years after the Culling Game and follows the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. It takes place during a turbulent time when Japan is threatened by a potential war, as the country has become a refuge for 50,000 Simurians ā an alien race. The manga is currently running in WSJ, but was initially intended to be a short series, so itās expected to finish about six months after it begins.
1) Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Is One of the Most Anticipated Anime of 2026
Fans are incredibly excited for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, set to premiere in January 2026. The new season will cover the Itadoriās Extermination and Perfect Preparation arcs, leading into the long-awaited Culling Game. Expect to meet new characters and witness some of the most intense battles in the series. Weāll also discover why Yuta Okkotsu has returned to Japan and is determined to eliminate Yuji Itadori. The Culling Game arc is the second to last in the series, building towards the finale and revealing the schemes of Kenjaku and Ryomen Sukuna.
