Jump Festa, a huge annual event for anime and manga fans, recently took place and featured a lot of exciting news. We learned when the next season of Bleach will be released and got updates on Haikyu!!, among other things. While the event was a success, some fans were hoping for a few more announcements that didn’t happen.
Fans were eagerly awaiting updates on three different series. One group hoped to finally hear about an anime adaptation, while the other two were anticipating news about the future of their shows.
3) The Anime Adaptation of Kagurabachi

Many fans were eagerly anticipating an anime announcement for Kagurabachi in 2023. This Shonen Jump series has been running for over two years and is seen as a potential successor to popular titles like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen. With a substantial amount of source material and Shueisha’s Jump Festa event being a major platform for announcements, excitement was high that the globally popular manga would finally be adapted into animation.
Fans were disappointed that the event didn’t include any announcements of new anime based on popular shonen manga. While many believe Kagurabachi will be the next big anime adaptation from Shonen Jump, fans will have to be patient for any news.
2) Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Is Still Far Away

The Demon Slayer Super Stage kicked off the second day of Jump Festa 2026, and fans eagerly anticipated news about the second installment in the Demon Slayer movie trilogy. Unfortunately, the panel didn’t reveal any details about the movie; instead, it focused on sharing various unrelated updates.
It was disappointing for fans when the panel didn’t reveal any news about the next Demon Slayer movie. It now seems like the film could be delayed, possibly not releasing until late 2027.
1) One Piece and Netflix Still Keep Fans in the Dark on Their Most Ambitious Project

The popular series One Piece closed out the final main event at Jump Festa 2026, a fitting position considering its importance to Shueisha and Shonen Jump. Attendees eagerly awaited news about the anime’s second season and the live-action adaptation, and both received updates and previews. But the biggest anticipation was for details on the anime remake, which was originally announced two years ago.
The upcoming Netflix remake of One Piece was announced over two years ago, and fans were hoping for significant news, especially since there haven’t been many updates. The lack of information has left fans frustrated and worried about the project’s progress. It’s ironic that the remake aims to fix pacing problems in the original anime, because these long delays could actually make those issues worse. If Netflix had shared details about the remake, or any updates at all, the Jump Festa 2026 event would have been even more anticipated.
