3 Times Vegeta Definitively Proved He Was Better Than Goku in Dragon Ball Daima

Dragon Ball Daima was a surprisingly unique addition to the Dragon Ball series, and it featured several moments where Vegeta actually surpassed his longtime rival, Goku. Fans constantly compare Goku and Vegeta, always debating who is the stronger fighter. Usually, Goku is considered the more powerful of the two, but Daima offered a different perspective.

Although Goku clearly became more powerful than Vegeta by the end of the battle with Daima, the series still showed Vegeta excelling in areas where Goku doesn’t. These moments demonstrated Vegeta’s intelligence, adaptability, and more human side, proving he’s a brilliant strategist even if he’s not as physically strong as Goku.

3) Vegeta Is Significantly Wiser Than Goku

Goku is incredibly skilled in battle, but not very bright otherwise. Vegeta, on the other hand, is much more intelligent, and a scene in Episode 12 demonstrates this perfectly. After defeating Tamagami 2, Vegeta needs to solve a riddle to get a Dragon Ball. Tamagami 2 asks him how many cookies Ichiro the Snake ate.

After careful consideration – and a brief outburst of frustration – Vegeta confidently explains that Ichiro didn’t eat the biscuits because he’s a snake. Tamagami 2 praises Vegeta’s clever thinking. This moment demonstrates that Vegeta is not only more insightful than Goku, but also smarter than everyone else present.

2) Daima Proves Vegeta is More Human Than Goku

Interestingly, Vegeta shows more emotional vulnerability than Goku in the Daima series, despite Goku being raised by humans and Vegeta not. This is first apparent in Episode 10, when Hybis playfully mocks Vegeta’s attraction to women, and Vegeta actually becomes flustered and embarrassed, confirming the joke.

One of the funniest moments with Vegeta in the Daima saga happens in Episode 19. He quickly gives up a fight when Bulma jokingly threatens to stop bathing with him if he doesn’t obey. Goku doesn’t understand what’s going on, but Vegeta instantly backs down. This scene shows that even though Vegeta always acts tough, he has a surprisingly vulnerable and human side.

1) Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 Achievement Proves His Genius

Vegeta’s biggest surprise in the Daima saga is undoubtedly his transformation into a Super Saiyan 3. What makes this even more impressive is that he reaches this level solely through intense training, demonstrating his incredible Saiyan potential – perhaps even surpassing Goku’s. While Goku explains that achieving Super Saiyan 3 took him years of dedicated practice, and was aided by his spiritual form at the time, Vegeta accomplishes it through sheer willpower and effort.

The fact that Gotenks, created through a fusion, could also reach this level supports this idea. Vegeta, on the other hand, achieved Super Saiyan 3 through dedicated training, and even faster than Goku, suggesting he might have a stronger Saiyan bloodline. However, Vegeta typically needs to see someone else transform first before he can do it himself. This drive to not be surpassed seems to unlock his potential, ultimately indicating that Vegeta is the more naturally gifted Saiyan compared to Goku.
