A hilarious adult animated series created by Andy Samberg is coming to Netflix in just two days! The show, which originally aired on Comedy Central, is a favorite for its over-the-top humor and has even been called the perfect cartoon to watch on a relaxed weekend afternoon. While a third season isn’t confirmed yet, you’ll definitely want to check out the first season when it starts streaming.
Created by Andy Samberg, Digman! is a comedy about a team of archaeologists who are treated like rock stars as they make exciting discoveries. The show follows Rip Digman, a once-famous adventurer who lost his job at the Smithsonian ten years ago. Now, Rip and his assistant, Saltine, are back on the hunt for legendary artifacts, hoping to restore his reputation. It’s a completely over-the-top and silly show, but it’s obvious everyone involved had fun making it.
Will There Be More from Digman!?
Okay, so Digman! didn’t exactly wow the critics or become a mainstream hit, but as a film and TV fan, I’m telling you, it’s building a seriously dedicated following. It’s the kind of show people feel about, you know? Pajiba’s Allison Lanier put it perfectly – it’s ‘quality nonsense,’ and honestly, Andy Samberg’s Nic Cage impression as Rip is the best part. It’s wonderfully over-the-top and just pure fun. Seriously, give me a *National Treasurestyle Cage impression any day! Some might find the humor a little broad, but I was surprised by how much heart the show actually has. It gives the first season a real depth you don’t always expect, making it much more than just silly jokes.
Currently, the fate of a third season of Digman! is up in the air. Andy Samberg recently told ScreenRant that while Comedy Central has been pleased with the show’s performance, its future isn’t certain. He expressed his personal pride in the series, emphasizing how much joy he gets from both creating and watching it. Samberg described Digman! as a passion project driven by a desire to create something genuinely funny, and he’s hoping for the opportunity to continue making it.
If you loved Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but are looking for something completely wild and animated, Digman! could be perfect. And you’re definitely not alone in feeling that way – many fans of the show feel the same!
