Those last few movies were great, but they focused on us inside the game, while the original and the book were all about the game’s chaos spilling into reality. Remember how Jumanji: The Next Level hinted the game was being fixed and the jungle would start appearing in the real world? Well, it looks like that promise is finally being kept! It’s exciting to see them revisit that classic premise, and I can’t wait to see how they bring the chaos back home.

In the previous films, these characters served as avatars for the teenage players inside the game, and their personalities were played for laughs. For example, Dwayne Johnson plays the confident adventurer Dr. Xander Bravestone, who was controlled by the anxious Spencer in the films. It’s likely we’ll see Bravestone and Spencer interacting in the new movie, but how that will play out is still a mystery.
