I’m so excited about the new *Avengers: Doomsday* movie! They’ve already started filming, and from what I’ve seen in interviews and on set photos, there are going to be some really unexpected team-ups. It’s shaping up to be huge – they’ve confirmed over 25 actors will be in it! What’s even more amazing is they’re finally bringing in characters from the *X-Men* movies alongside all our favorite MCU Avengers.
Similar to other *Avengers* movies, *Doomsday* will feature heroes teaming up for the first time. While Marvel Studios is keeping the specifics of how these different superhero groups will connect a secret, some details have started to emerge as actors film scenes together.
The upcoming movie, *Avengers: Doomsday*, will be the fifth large-scale team-up of superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously directed *Avengers: Infinity War* and *Endgame*. The film’s release date has been pushed back and is now set for December 18, 2026.
Avengers Pairings That Have Been Confirmed For Avengers: Doomsday
Reed Richards and Nightcrawler
Alan Cumming will reprise his role as Nightcrawler in the upcoming movie, *Avengers: Doomsday*. He accidentally let slip in a recent interview that he’s been training for a fight scene with Pedro Pascal, who plays Reed Richards from the *Fantastic Four*.
Alan Cumming and Simon Pegg have attempted to dismiss rumors of a fight between Nightcrawler and Mr. Fantastic in *Avengers: Doomsday*. However, their acknowledgment that Cumming’s statements were a “leak” strongly suggests the scene will actually happen in the film.
Pascal has apparently finished filming his part in *Avengers: Doomsday*, suggesting he might have a smaller role than expected. Meanwhile, Cumming has stated that he is still actively filming as of the beginning of August.
Cyclops and Sam Wilson
Fans are excited about the possible return of classic X-Men characters – including Professor X, Magneto, and Mystique – in *Avengers 5*, and many are hoping to see a showdown between the X-Men and the Avengers.
According to Alex Perez at Cosmic Circus, a conflict is brewing between Cyclops (James Marsden) and Captain America (Anthony Mackie). The report suggests each hero will lead their own team of superheroes, potentially leading to a large-scale battle.
Johnny Storm and Thor
The actors from *The Fantastic Four* are joining the next *Avengers* movie, and fans are eager to see how they’ll work with the original Avengers team. Joseph Quinn, who plays Johnny Storm, has hinted at a scene with Chris Hemsworth (Thor), revealing he’s already filmed some scenes for *Avengers: Doomsday* with the star.
The actor told AP Entertainment that working on *Avengers: Doomsday* was a great experience because he was surrounded by highly skilled and experienced professionals. He added that it was comforting to see these well-known characters – he’d been watching Thor in movies for years.
As expected, the latest developments suggest a meeting between the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who expressed his enthusiasm for the role. Doctor Doom is a well-known villain from the Fantastic Four comics, and a brief glimpse of him at the end of *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* hinted that this team would likely share screen time with the established MCU actor.
Joaquin Torres and Magneto
In the upcoming comic Avengers: Doomsday, there will be a confrontation between Joaquin Torres, who is the Falcon, and Magneto, a mutant with the power to control metal.
Danny Ramirez, who stars in *Captain America: Brave New World*, recently mentioned a possible on-screen appearance with veteran *X-Men* actor Ian McKellan. In an interview with Screen Rant, Ramirez shared that learning from experienced actors has been a great part of working on *Avengers: Doomsday*, and excitedly suggested the idea of acting alongside McKellan.
Ramirez hasn’t revealed if Falcon and Magneto will be allies or enemies, but it’s increasingly probable that we’ll see several Avengers team up with characters from the X-Men.
