4 The Boys Characters Actually Stronger Than Homelander

At the beginning of *The Boys*, Vought International is primarily focused on profit. They create Supes as a way to make money through movies, TV shows, and endorsements. But over time, simply making a profit isn’t enough, especially for Homelander, who wants to control the government. Because he’s so powerful – unlike anything the world has ever seen – and believes no one can stop him, it’s easy for him to take what he wants.

Homelander may be incredibly powerful, but he’s surprisingly vulnerable emotionally. This weakness could be exploited, and several characters in *The Boys* might actually be able to defeat him. Here are four of them.

4) Cindy

When the team visits the Sage Grove Center, they encounter a variety of interesting people, one of whom challenges Mother’s Milk. However, Cindy makes the most significant impression – even Lamplighter fears her. While she can move things with her mind, it’s her masterful control over this ability that makes her so powerful. She effortlessly lifts boats and withstands bullets, proving she’s a match for anyone, including her current boss.

3) Mindstorm

Payback was the first team of superheroes, active in the 1980s and partnered with the CIA. However, the team wasn’t entirely heroic; some members betrayed their leader, Soldier Boy, by handing him over to the Russians. Mindstorm, who could trap people in their dreams, managed to subdue Soldier Boy, though he later faced consequences for it. At his strongest, Mindstorm was a genuine threat to Homelander. If Homelander were forced to relive his deepest, most terrifying memories – and Mindstorm could do that with Vought’s secrets – he wouldn’t stand a chance.

2) Soldier Boy

Even after losing control and being sidelined, Soldier Boy comes back stronger than before. Billy Butcher brings him in, believing Soldier Boy’s incredible power is the key to defeating Homelander, and he almost succeeds. Unless Homelander can convince his father to join forces with him in the final season of *The Boys*, he’s likely facing a losing battle.

1) Marie Moreau

When Marie Moreau first arrives at Godolkin University in *Gen V*, she’s deeply insecure and struggles to understand her abilities, fearing judgment from others. However, at the start of Season 2, Marie is determined to embrace her powers, which poses a serious threat to Homelander. Her ability to manipulate blood gives her the potential to defeat him – she just needs to believe in herself enough to use it.

The Boys is streaming on Prime Video.
