The highly anticipated Spring 2026 anime season has arrived, and Netflix has announced its upcoming series. 2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for anime lovers, with new releases like Cosmic Princess Kaguya and Love Through a Prism. Plus, Netflix is bringing back the classic Gintama from Shonen Jump, with more popular shows on the way. Unlike Crunchyroll, which releases most of its season all at once, Netflix adds series throughout each month – including both brand new originals and older favorites. While Netflix doesn’t have as many titles per season as Crunchyroll, each show is carefully selected to be interesting and appeal to anime fans worldwide.
With April here, the streaming service has started showing season two of Dorohedoro and has many more popular shows planned for release. Netflix Anime recently announced eight new series coming in April and May 2026, building on previously confirmed April additions. While specific dates are still to come, What’s on Netflix reports that Spy x Family will premiere on April 4th, 2026. Currently, it’s unclear how many seasons will be available at first, but Netflix plans to eventually add all three.
Spy x Family’s Anime Still Hasn’t Confirmed Season 4

Though the most recent season finished months ago, there’s no official word yet on whether the anime will return for a fourth season. Season three followed the Forger family as they worked to prevent war between Ostania and Westalis, all while keeping their secret identities hidden from each other – even as they secretly helped one another. The season concluded with the Wheeler Arc, meaning the Term Finals Arc will likely be adapted in the future.
Typically, when a hit series like Spy x Family from Shonen Jump+ finishes airing a season, news about the next season comes quickly. But instead of announcing Season 4, the official anime X account revealed details about a special event happening on November 8th, 2026. Called Extra Mission II, the event will feature the voice actors sharing stories about working on the show.
An announcement about a fourth season might be made at the event, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. Given how popular the anime is, a Season 4 will likely happen eventually, but fans may have to wait longer than expected for the next part of the story. You can currently watch the anime on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Prime Video.
