Disney boasts many of the most famous and cherished characters in entertainment, and fans have often wished for certain shows and franchises to return. Now, Disney is making that happen with a brand new series revival – bringing back a popular show after a 45-year hiatus, and it’s a fantastic move.
After 45 years, The Muppet Show is returning! Disney has just released a fun trailer giving fans a first look at the revival. It features all the classic Muppets – Kermit, Miss Piggy, Rowlf, Gonzo, Fozzy, Animal, and others – along with special guests like Sabrina Carpenter, Maya Rudolph, and Seth Rogen. You can watch the trailer below.
The Muppet Show Goes Back To The Classic Formula (And It’s The Perfect Approach)

This new series updates the show with today’s stars and humor, while still keeping the feel and fun of the original. The original featured beloved Muppets and famous guest stars like Steve Martin and Julie Andrews. This time, you’ll see Carpenter, Rudolph, and Rogen throughout the special.
The original Muppet Show ended in 1981. Although Disney has created various Muppet projects since then, none have quite recaptured the charm of the classic series. This new special feels like the perfect chance to bring that magic back.
If people enjoy this new content, we might even see a revival of The Muppet Show, or at least more special episodes. Ultimately, fans just want to see the Muppets being funny and entertaining, and this looks like a great way to bring that back.
The Muppet Show will stream on Disney+ on February 4, 2026.
