5 Amazing Marvel Comics Crossovers That Weren’t With DC

Marvel Comics is famous for its team-ups with DC Comics, and we recently saw a new one after more than two decades – a crossover featuring Deadpool and Batman. Another is already planned with Superman and Spider-Man. However, Marvel has also collaborated with many other popular franchises over the years, creating exciting crossovers that fans loved.

Although I prefer DC Comics, I always enjoy a good crossover event. Marvel has definitely delivered some memorable ones throughout the years. Re-reading the official Invincible and Spider-Man team-up was a fun experience, and the recent battle between Godzilla and the Avengers/Fantastic Four was epic. Let’s not forget the completely unexpected pairing of Archie and the Punisher! Marvel has created many fantastic crossovers beyond DC, so keep reading to discover some of the most surprising and exciting ones.

5. New Avengers/Transformers

The New Avengers comic was hugely popular in the 2000s, so it made sense for Marvel to team them up with another big hit of the time: the Transformers. The story involves Doctor Doom and the Decepticons pushing the world towards war, and the New Avengers and Autobots joining forces to stop them. While the plot is fairly simple, it’s really fun to see these two iconic franchises combined.

4. Marvel’s Predator and Alien Crossovers

When Disney bought 20th Century Studios (formerly Fox) almost ten years ago, it allowed Marvel Comics to create comics featuring characters from franchises like Alien and Predator – and they did. But Marvel didn’t stop there, also creating crossover stories pitting these iconic monsters against their own heroes. We’ve seen thrilling battles in comics like Predator vs. Wolverine, Alien vs. Captain America, and Predator Kills the Marvel Universe. These stories are all compelling, and it looks like these action-packed, violent crossovers will continue for the foreseeable future.

3. Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe

2025 marked Godzilla’s exciting return to the Marvel Universe after almost 50 years! Marvel Comics initially released several standalone stories, like battles between Godzilla and the Hulk or Spider-Man. The excitement culminated in the summer with the release of Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, a comic that truly delivered on its promise. The King of the Monsters unleashed a devastating rampage that even Marvel’s most powerful heroes couldn’t contain. If you love giant monsters, this crossover is a must-read!

2. Marvel Team-Up #14

It’s amazing that Robert Kirkman actually managed to officially include Spider-Man in the Invincible story, and it happened way back in Marvel Team-Up #14. During the events of Invincible #33, Mark finds himself battling Angstrom Levy and gets pulled into the Marvel Universe, where he joins forces with Spider-Man to fight Doctor Octopus. While you can definitely enjoy Invincible on its own, this crossover is a must-read for fans – especially since it features Mark playfully teasing Spider-Man about his superhero name!

1. Archie Meets the Punisher

I still can’t believe it actually happened, but back in 1994, a comic book brought together The Punisher and Archie! Here’s how: Frank Castle was tracking a criminal who resembled Archie Andrews, which led him to Riverdale. Luckily, Frank didn’t mistakenly execute Archie, but the whole thing feels incredibly strange. Despite that, it’s a really funny comic, and I’d love to see more crossovers that are this creatively wild.
