After spending over 45 hours with it, I can say that *Battlefield 6* delivers! My review highlights many fantastic aspects of the game, though the single-player campaign could be improved. When it comes to multiplayer and overall gameplay, this is the *Battlefield* experience fans have been waiting for nearly ten years. It’s a welcome return to a modern setting, clearly building on the strengths of *Battlefield 3* and *4*. It’s a huge accomplishment and I think fans will absolutely love it.
I’ve picked up a lot of knowledge while playing this game. The campaign does a decent job of teaching you the basics of *Battlefield 6*, but it doesn’t cover everything. For example, you won’t get any practice with planes or helicopters in the campaign, so you’ll likely have to learn those controls in online multiplayer. With that in mind, here are some tips to help you get started with Battlefield.
5) Beat the Campaign on the Hardest Difficulty for a Free B36A4 Weapon Package

While the single-player campaign in *Battlefield 6* isn’t amazing, completing it does offer some benefits in multiplayer. Players who finish the campaign on the hardest setting will receive a fully equipped B36A4 assault rifle, letting them start multiplayer matches with advanced attachments before they’ve been unlocked through normal gameplay – giving them a helpful early advantage.
The game’s story mode takes around 5 hours to complete, and even the hardest difficulty isn’t overly challenging. The main thing to remember is that your teammates won’t be able to save you if you fall, so play carefully and avoid rushing into fights when you’re already hurt.
4) Pay Attention to Battlefield 6‘s Challenges

Honestly, one of my biggest frustrations with *Battlefield 6* is how the progression works. You do level up just by playing, which is good, but a lot of the really cool stuff – awesome guns and gadgets for each class – are locked behind challenges. These challenges start popping up around level 20, and it feels like you have to do things in a really specific order to unlock everything.
As a fan, I’ve found the challenges are broken down by things like what class you play and what weapons you use. Each of those has its own progression path with three steps. You get a new unlock after each step, but you’re stuck going through them in a set order – you can’t just pick and choose! Honestly, it feels a little clunky, and I really hope they streamline it in *Battlefield 6*, but that’s how it works right now.
To unlock all classes and weapons, you’ll need to complete in-game challenges. Skipping these challenges could mean spending many hours without getting new gadgets or weapons. You can find the challenges on the main screen or by pausing the game and going to the challenge menu.
3) You Can Level Up Against Bots in Battlefield 6

While testing *Battlefield 6*, the multiplayer servers were up and running, but not many players had the game yet. This resulted in mostly playing against computer-controlled opponents, or ‘bots’. They weren’t super intelligent, but they were still surprisingly good. I was even taken down a few times by bots using rocket launchers, without them needing to lock onto me – it was a bit embarrassing!
I reached the mid-30s in level mostly by defeating bots. They’re easy to farm, which is great for leveling up weapons, completing challenges, and more. In *Battlefield 6*, you can even create your own server and populate it entirely with bots if you want.
2) You Earn Extra XP With Friends and On Certain Platforms

You can boost how much XP you earn in *Battlefield 6* in a few different ways. If you’re playing on PlayStation 5, you automatically get a 5% XP bonus. Teaming up with friends gives you another 5% boost, no matter what platform you’re on. Plus, if you and a friend *both* have PlayStation Plus, you’ll get an additional 5% XP boost on PlayStation. This means PS5 players can earn up to 15% more XP, while everyone else can get an extra 5% just by playing with friends.
Pre-ordering the game or owning the Phantom Edition gives you valuable double XP boosters, and you can earn even more through in-game challenges. You can activate these boosters anytime from the pause menu. Just remember, boosters have a limited time and will expire even when you’re not playing, so use them when you have a long play session planned to get the most out of them!
1) You Can Repair and Restock Your Vehicle at Base

If you enjoy flying helicopters in *Battlefield 6*, you’ve probably found it’s quite challenging. You have limited ammo that recharges slowly, leaving you exposed, and enemies can easily target and damage your helicopter. While you could land to repair or hide, there’s a faster way to resupply and rejoin the action.
In *Battlefield 6*, returning to your home base in most maps with your vehicle automatically repairs it and refills your ammunition. This is a quick and efficient process. Plus, if you capture an enemy player and bring them back to base, an automated anti-aircraft gun will target and often scare away enemy aircraft. While usually not fatal, it *can* destroy aircraft that stay in its range for too long.
Tank drivers can find repair stations throughout the game world. These stations look like large, black boxes with a special icon above them. To use one, just drive your tank up to it, and it will automatically repair any damage.
