Nintendo Switch Online lets you play many Nintendo games online. It also offers extra benefits, like earning points to redeem for digital items in the eShop. A basic subscription includes access to collections of classic Nintendo games. If you upgrade to the Expansion Pack, you’ll get even more retro games, including a large library of Game Boy Advance titles, to play on your Nintendo Switch.
I have a lot of fond memories playing the Game Boy Color, and many of its best games are available with a standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription. However, some of my favorite gaming experiences were on the Game Boy Advance. While you need the pricier Expansion Pack to access GBA games on the Switch, it might be worth the cost for retro gaming fans – especially considering it includes games from other consoles too. If you’re wondering which Game Boy Advance games on the Nintendo Switch Online service are the best, here are five must-play titles currently available.
5) WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames!

Released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, this game launched a popular new branch of the Super Mario franchise. It’s packed with fast-paced, connected mini-games that players have to finish. Boasting over 200 different mini-games, it offers a lot of variety. It was a hit with both critics and fans when it first came out.
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames! has been available on the Game Boy Advance Classics Library for a while now, and it’s a standout title in a great collection. If you enjoy quick, fun mini-games and fast-paced action, you should definitely check out this Game Boy Advance classic that started a whole series of games.
4) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords

It’s tough to talk about revisiting classic Nintendo games without mentioning The Legend of Zelda. It’s one of Nintendo’s most famous series, but not every Zelda game is a masterpiece. When looking at the Zelda games available through Nintendo Switch Online on Game Boy Advance, A Link to the Past is generally considered better than its predecessor, The Minish Cap, though the difference isn’t huge.
Many fans consider A Link to the Past to be one of the best games on the Game Boy Advance. It’s a classic Zelda experience, similar to the original SNES version, with challenging puzzles and dungeons. The Game Boy Advance version of Four Swords was also groundbreaking for introducing multiplayer to the Zelda series. If you enjoy the older Legend of Zelda games, both A Link to the Past and its prequel, Minish Cap, are worth playing – and they’re both available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance library.
3) Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade

Several classic Fire Emblem games from the Game Boy Advance are now available on Nintendo Switch Online, and they’re all worth playing. However, I think The Blazing Blade is the best of the bunch. As the second Fire Emblem game on the Game Boy Advance, it took everything that was good about the first game and made it even better.
The Fire Emblem series is now a popular JRPG, and this game was the first one released outside of Japan. It’s a key part of the series’ history, as it introduced the story and turn-based battles to players worldwide. It’s a great place to start if you’re new to Fire Emblem, and it’s one of the best games available on Nintendo Switch Online for the Game Boy Advance. If you enjoy it, you can continue the adventure with The Sacred Stones, another GBA title available through NSO that came out a few years later.
2)Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3

I’ve always loved playing Yoshi games, and with a new one coming out later this year, it’s the perfect time to revisit Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3. This version is a remake of the original Yoshi’s Island game, originally released on the SNES, for the Game Boy Advance. It adds new levels and includes voice acting, making it a great way to enjoy the game even now.
Yoshi’s Island is a classic platformer game, similar to Super Mario. It’s widely considered one of the best platformers ever made for handheld consoles, boasting great graphics and cleverly designed levels that are fun for both newcomers and experienced players. It remains a standout title in the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance collection and is still highly recommended today.
1) Golden Sun

This role-playing game was created by Camelot, the team famous for the Mario sports titles. However, don’t underestimate them – they crafted a fantastic RPG called Golden Sun. For its time, the game boasted impressive graphics, a compelling story, well-developed characters, and enjoyable combat and exploration.
Golden Sun takes place in the fantastical world of Weyard, and puts you in the shoes of powerful magic users known as Adepts. The game’s heroes quickly become embroiled in a grand adventure to overcome evil. Critics loved it when it first came out, and it’s still considered one of the best Japanese role-playing games available. If you enjoy Golden Sun, you can continue the story with its sequel, The Lost Age, which is also available on Nintendo Switch Online. The two games are heavily connected, making it a seamless experience to play both.
