Shueisha’s Shonen Jump is their most successful magazine and the home of many of the world’s most beloved manga series. Iconic titles like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and My Hero Academia all started in Shonen Jump and helped shape the anime and manga industries. Even with some of these classic series finished (except for One Piece), Shonen Jump continues to launch new, popular manga.
Lately, we’ve seen more and more manga series end or get canceled, as Shonen Jump is now focusing on stories that don’t last as long. Although some popular, long-running manga are still ongoing, it looks like several major franchises – some that have been around for over ten years – are expected to finish up this year. Here are five of the biggest series that are likely to conclude soon.
5) Blue Box

Blue Box is a truly unique series currently running in Shonen Jump. It skillfully combines the excitement of sports with elements of romance, a blend that’s rare in manga. After almost five years and over 200 chapters, it’s become a well-established and popular title in the magazine.
Last year, it was announced that the Blue Box manga is nearing its end, a confirmation reinforced at Jump Festa. The story is clearly wrapping up, so it’s expected to conclude this year. However, fans still have something to anticipate: the second season of the anime is planned for release this fall.
4) Sakamoto Days

I’m a huge fan of Sakamoto Days, and it’s become a real powerhouse series in the magazine! It’s stepped up and become one of the top titles, alongside One Piece, especially with other big series like My Hero Academia taking a break. Last summer, the creator announced we were heading into the final arc, which was both exciting and a little sad! Ever since then, the story has been completely focused on this massive final battle, and it’s amazing to finally see Sakamoto himself back in action, facing off against the ultimate bad guy. It’s really building to a climax!
The current arc of Sakamoto Days seems to be wrapping up, with most storylines nearing their resolution. An announcement about the series ending could come as early as next month. However, fans don’t need to be concerned, as a second season of the anime is being made, and a live-action movie is also in development.
3) Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

Although Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is still new with only about 20 chapters available, it’s already proven popular, largely because of its connection to Jujutsu Kaisen. Many fans were disappointed with how the original manga ended, so when this sequel started last year, it quickly gained attention as people were eager to see where the story would go.
When the continuation of this series was announced, it was stated it would be relatively short, planned for around three volumes. The manga is now almost at that length, and as the story builds to a major final battle, it’s becoming clear the end is near. It might finish as early as next month, alongside the first part of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 and the conclusion of Sakamoto Days.
2) Chainsaw Man

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump, but now continues on the Shonen Jump Plus platform. Even with this change, it remains a popular and important series within the Shonen Jump lineup. Meanwhile, the story in Part 2 is moving towards a finale, and several clues suggest the manga might be ending soon.
The editor of Chainsaw Man has announced that the manga is now in its final arc. Because the newest volume covers material only six chapters behind the latest release (chapter 228), the main conflict might already be over. This means Chainsaw Man could finish sooner than many other popular series, though with its publishing schedule, the ending is likely still several months away. While the entire manga might not end right away, the current part of the story, Part 2, is definitely wrapping up, and fans can anticipate the conclusion very soon.
1) Black Clover

The manga Black Clover started appearing in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 and has been a popular series for over 11 years. Even though it moved to Jump Giga in late 2023, it’s remained a top title. Now, the story is nearing its end, and the latest issue of Jump Giga has revealed the outcome of the final battle and who won.
The final chapters of Black Clover will appear in the Spring issue of Jump Giga, bringing Asta’s story to a close with an epilogue. While fans have long awaited the ending, and the series faced some difficulties along the way, Black Clover remains a hugely important title for Shonen Jump. It’s fitting that the story will receive a complete and satisfying conclusion.
