After a long wait, Pokemon Pokopia is getting its first big update! Actually, it’s getting three! The June Nintendo Direct revealed the first part of a new Expansion Pass, introducing an underwater region called Bubbly Basin. This downloadable content arrives in August 2026 and will add a completely new area to explore, filled with new Pokemon, items, and other exciting content.
The new Pokémon and region in Pokémon Pokopia are fantastic! Even though there are still some problems to fix in the game, I’m eager to explore the Bubbly Basin as soon as possible. However, I’m most excited about Part 2 of the expansion pass. The promise of “additional new features” suggests we’ll see improvements in the Bubbly Basin area and, hopefully, fixes for some of the frustrating issues currently in the game. Here are five things I hope are included in Pokopia‘s DLC.
5) Clarity & Customization for Ditto’s Comfort Level

Ditto, like all Pokemon in Pokopia, has a comfort level. However, since you play as Ditto, figuring out what makes it happy can be more challenging than with other Pokemon. You can’t just ask yourself what Ditto needs to feel cozy, like you would with your other Poke Pals. I think there are two good ways to solve this, and I hope they’re added in a future DLC update.
The game could make it simpler to understand what Ditto needs to be happy, perhaps with a journal or by prompting players to reflect on its feelings. However, many players want to go further, suggesting that since we are Ditto, we should be able to design its perfect living space. This would not only help us quickly identify what improves Ditto’s comfort, but also allow us to create an environment where it can thrive alongside our other Pokémon.
4) Bulk Relic Appraisal System

I really dislike Blathers from Animal Crossing, but even he’s faster at identifying artifacts than Professor Tangrowth in Pokemon Pokopia. Tangrowth makes you individually show him each relic for appraisal, which is really tedious. While the PC in Pallet Town helps a little, Pokemon Pokopia definitely needs a way to appraise multiple relics at the same time to make things easier.
Okay, so finding relics should be awesome, right? But honestly, it’s become a bit of a drag. Spending ages figuring out what each item even is just kills the fun. And it’s even worse when you keep finding the same stuff over and over! I have an idea though – why can’t Professor Tangrowth learn from Blathers and just automatically appraise everything I’ve dug up? It would save so much time and frustration. Please, developers, consider it!
3) Item Recycling/Trash Options

I’m likely the worst when it comes to littering on Dream Island in Pokopia. It’s just so easy to get rid of unwanted things by leaving them there! But we really need better options – like recycling or even a simple trash can – in Pokopia. I’m asking the developers to please add a way to properly dispose of items.
It would be great if Pokopia included an easy way to manage extra or unwanted items. Since they’re constantly adding new Pokémon, why not have one introduce a skill that either recycles or discards these items? They could even transform them into different kinds of trash for the Pokémon Trubbish! I’m really hoping for a solution because dealing with duplicates is becoming a real problem.
2) Warning Message or “Undo” To Prevent Accidental Pokemon Habitat Destruction

It’s happened to all of us: accidentally ruining a Pokémon’s home. Whether it’s by shifting something around or clumsily entering an area, it’s surprisingly easy to destroy their habitat. It’s really upsetting to see those sad, displaced Pokémon, and I wish the game had a way to prevent it.
There are a couple of possible solutions here. One idea is to show a warning before you remove or destroy something that’s important for the environment. Another would be to let players easily undo actions if they accidentally cause a problem. That would also be really helpful when building, because many of us often place blocks in the wrong spot.
1) Streamlined Universal Storage System

Most Pokopia fans, including myself, are really hoping for a much-improved storage system – and quickly! Right now, it’s way too easy to misplace important items. Even with carefully organized chests in each area, you often end up running all over the game world just to find what you need. Honestly, that’s the most annoying part of playing Pokopia.
Many players, including myself, are hoping for improvements to the item storage system in Pokémon Pokopia. Ideally, we’d like to be able to access all our stored items no matter where we are in the game. At the very least, a search function to quickly locate specific items would be incredibly helpful – it’s frustrating to have to run all over different areas just to find something like my Mysterious Goggles! This improvement should also include better ways to manage and appraise items. But if the developers only add one new feature in part 1 of the expansion, please let it be a fix for this storage problem; it would make such a big difference.
