In the first few months since the Nintendo Switch 2 launched, there haven’t been many major third-party games available. While the console has impressively run versions of games like *Cyberpunk 2077* and *Star Wars Outlaws*, and popular indie titles such as *Hollow Knight: Silksong* will likely do well on the eShop, some important game types are noticeably missing. According to what developers are saying, there’s a reason why we aren’t seeing more third-party support right now.
Several reports suggest Nintendo plans to limit the number of games from other companies (third-party games) available when the Switch 2 first launches. This could be why we haven’t seen announcements for some expected games yet. Digital Extremes, the studio behind *Warframe*, only recently received development tools for the Switch 2. Hopefully, other developers are getting their tools soon, as the Switch 2 could be a great console for online games like *Warframe*, *Fortnite*, and *Apex Legends*.
Here are five popular online multiplayer games that would be great to play on the new Switch, and hopefully they’ll be available soon.
1) Marvel Rivals

Okay, so I’ve been checking out *Marvel Rivals*, and honestly, I think it would look *amazing* on the Switch 2. It’s a new live-service game, and having Marvel characters and that bright, colorful style feels like a perfect fit for Nintendo’s console. Plus, getting it on the Switch would be huge for the game – it’d help build a way bigger player base, which is always a good thing!
2) Genshin Impact

MiHoYo, are you still planning on releasing *Genshin Impact* on the Nintendo Switch? It’s been a long time since the initial announcement, and with the game no longer supporting PlayStation 4, many believe a Switch version is unlikely. Despite this, fans are still hoping HoYoverse will find a way to deliver the game to Nintendo players.
3) Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is becoming popular again! Players are returning to the game because of features from the original Overwatch, lots of new content, and improvements to how the game plays. While you *can* play Overwatch 2 on the new Switch console, it could really benefit from a visual and technical upgrade, similar to what happened with games like Fortnite and Apex Legends. A refresh like that would likely attract even more players.
4) Destiny 2

It used to seem crazy to think a Bungie game could appear on a Nintendo console, but anything feels possible these days. We’ve already seen games like *Gears of War* on PlayStation and *Helldivers 2* on Xbox, so the unexpected is becoming normal. *Destiny 2* is still popular and receiving updates, and bringing this groundbreaking live-service shooter to another platform would likely benefit both the game and Bungie.
5) Valorant

It might seem unlikely, but a Nintendo console could actually work well for a game like *Valorant*. Serious *Valorant* players probably wouldn’t consider a Nintendo system at first, but they’d feel the same way about PlayStation and Xbox – and *Valorant* is available on those platforms now. The Switch 2 has a potential advantage: gyro aiming, which has become really important in games like *Splatoon*, *Fortnite*, and *Apex Legends*. Given that, *Valorant* feels like a perfect fit, and it would be exciting to see competitive matches exclusive to the Switch 2, highlighting the game’s need for accurate aiming.
