Unlike the Green Lanterns, who draw power from willpower, the Red Lanterns are fueled by intense rage. Atrocitus, one of the few who survived a massive genocide, channeled his hatred and thirst for revenge to create the first Red Lantern rings. Leading a large group of followers, Atrocitus aims to eliminate injustice throughout the universe using brutal force. These rings specifically target individuals consumed by unending anger and a desire for payback. If Red Lantern rings ever appeared in the Marvel Universe, many heroes and villains would be perfect candidates to join the Corps.
Red Lantern rings are incredibly dangerous because they boost a user’s anger, frequently leading to uncontrollable fury. They also replace the heart’s function and turn blood into superheated plasma. If Marvel characters were to use these rings, they’d become terrifying embodiments of rage.
5) Wolverine

Logan, better known as Wolverine, is incredibly skilled at what he does, though his work often involves violence. Over a century of life has left him scarred by loss and trauma, including the deaths of people he cared about and brutal experiments. These experiences fueled his famous temper and desire for revenge. When he loses control, Wolverine enters a terrifying “Berserker Rage,” becoming a relentless and merciless fighter who feels no pain. While he tries to suppress his animalistic side, a Red Lantern ring would detect the intense anger within him, making it even harder for Logan to manage his fury.
4) Sabretooth

While Wolverine struggles with his primal instincts, his enemy Sabretooth fully gives in to his rage. Driven by a deep hatred for Wolverine, Sabretooth will do anything to torment him, a feeling stemming from when Wolverine killed Sabretooth’s brother. This rivalry continued even when they were both part of the Weapon X program, where they constantly tried to one-up each other. Unlike Wolverine, who tries to control his animalistic side, Sabretooth embraces it, letting anger and resentment rule his life – qualities that make him a prime candidate for the Red Lanterns.
3) Gorr the God Butcher

Like most Red Lanterns, Gorr’s life was marked by immense tragedy and a burning sense of injustice. He was a deeply spiritual alien from a world facing destruction, and he desperately prayed to the gods for salvation. When his prayers went unanswered – especially after the heartbreaking loss of his wife and children – he learned the gods were real but deliberately refused to intervene. This realization fueled a relentless, universe-spanning quest to kill every god, whom he saw as callous and uncaring. Gorr’s hatred for the divine is almost unparalleled, and his intense desire for revenge and justice for his family would make him a terrifying and fitting member of the Red Lantern Corps.
2) Punisher

After witnessing the brutal murder of his family by the mob, former U.S. Marine Frank Castle became the Punisher, a relentless force against criminals. Driven by intense rage, he’s abandoned his former life and dedicated himself entirely to hunting down and killing those he deems evil. Like many who wield the power of the Red Lanterns, Frank’s fury stems from a devastating loss and fuels an unending quest for vengeance. He will not stop until every criminal is punished, and the power of a Red Lantern ring would only amplify his mission to destroy the criminal underworld.
1) Hulk

It always seemed likely that the Hulk would be a perfect fit for the Red Lantern Corps in Marvel. The Hulk embodies the suppressed anger stemming from Bruce Banner’s difficult childhood. Though he usually uses his incredible strength for good, the Hulk is prone to uncontrollable fury, causing widespread destruction. Like other Red Lanterns, the Hulk’s power increases with his anger – the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes, with seemingly no limit. In his most powerful form, World Breaker Hulk, he’s capable of destroying planets and defeating even the gods. If the Hulk were to wield a Red Lantern ring, amplifying his already immense rage and strength, he would become an unstoppable force.
