5 New Character Revealed in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 So Far, Ranked

I’ve been SO hyped for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, and honestly, it’s living up to the buzz! The first seven episodes have been incredible, kicking off a new story arc. Of course, that means we’re meeting a ton of new characters, and so far, they’ve been really well-introduced right from the start.

With the season about to kick into high gear and the Culling Games starting next time, we’re likely going to meet even more new faces. But before we get ahead of ourselves, I wanted to take a look back at everything that’s happened so far and rank the five new characters we’ve already been introduced to, based on how important they seem to be.

5) Angel

Angel is a player in the Culling Games taking place in the Tokyo East Colony. Initially appearing as just another contestant, it’s revealed by Tengen that she’s actually a powerful, ancient sorcerer with a unique ability: she can completely nullify the cursed techniques of others.

This ability positions her as crucial to reviving Gojo Satoru, potentially allowing her to dismantle the cursed energy barrier surrounding the Prison Realm. Even with limited information available about her so far, this discovery instantly makes her a highly important new character, and her role will likely become even more significant as we learn more about her.

4) Kashimo Hajime

Angel isn’t the only powerful, ancient sorcerer we’ve discovered. Kashimo Hajime is another one who is still active, currently located in the Tokyo No. 2 Colony. What makes him so interesting is that he’s the only player in the game with over 200 points – and he’s only playing for fun.

Kashimo’s quest to find Sukuna adds another layer to his character. He has all the hallmarks of a compelling villain for the next part of the story, meaning he’s likely to clash with the heroes—and potentially fight Hakari. As we learn more about him, Kashimo’s importance will only grow.

3) Naoya Zenin

Before the heroes faced off in the Culling Game, someone needed to be the bad guy, and Jujutsu Kaisen nailed it with Naoya Zenin. He was a truly effective villain, consistently demonstrating all the qualities of one. Though his confidence during his battle with Choso was interesting, his influence and behavior within the Zenin family were even more significant.

When Maki started defeating the Zenin clan, Naoya truly became a compelling villain: a man with a deep hatred for women, ultimately bested by a female opponent and betrayed in the end. The way his life ended was a fitting reflection of his own beliefs, making him a memorable antagonist. Unfortunately, his story was cut short when Maki killed him.

2) Hakari Kinji

Hakari Kinji was a highly anticipated character this season, having been hinted at as important in previous seasons. He lived up to the hype, as even Yuta, a very powerful character, believed Hakari could potentially be stronger than himself, making his introduction incredibly exciting.

Hakari is presented as a rebellious and unconventional sorcerer, immediately grabbing attention as the organizer of an underground fight club. His battle with Yuji demonstrated how much stronger Yuji has become, while also giving us a deeper look into Hakari’s character and suggesting he’ll be a key player in future events. Already established as a major sorcerer this season, Hakari Kinji is proving to be a crucial character, and his influence will likely continue to expand.

1) Tengen

Similar to Hakari, Tengen was hinted at in previous seasons, but his role is far more important. As the only sorcerer who underpins the entire Jujutsu world and has existed as long as Kenjaku, his introduction was always going to be a big moment. Season 3 finally showed just how vital Tengen is to the story of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Tengen explained that Kenjaku intends to combine him with the Japanese population, creating a new era powered by cursed energy. He also gave sorcerers key details about how to move forward, proving how valuable he is. These revelations demonstrate that Tengen isn’t just watching Jujutsu society – he’s actively shaping it. In Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Tengen is voiced by a narrator, which suggests he may have been observing events and delivering information through narration even in previous seasons.
