5 Spider-Man and Superman Crossovers We Need to See in 2026

After almost 50 years, Superman and Spider-Man are teaming up again! Despite a long period of not working together, Marvel and DC Comics surprised fans in 2025 with a crossover featuring Deadpool and Batman, among others. Now, they’re continuing that momentum next year with new specials spotlighting Superman and Spider-Man. Similar to the previous event, these specials will also include smaller crossover stories featuring characters connected to both heroes.

DC’s recent announcement of team-ups for their special event included some fun pairings, like stories featuring Pa Kent and Uncle Ben. However, fans quickly pointed out the absence of major characters such as Miles Morales and Lex Luthor. It’s likely some of these characters are being saved for Marvel’s upcoming one-shot special, so they haven’t been entirely overlooked. Considering the vast number of characters from both Superman and Spider-Man universes, what unexpected combinations could create a compelling story? Here are 5 Superman/Spider-Man pairings we’d love to see explored next year.

5. Spider-Boy/Super Twins

It’s notable that Superman and Spider-Man each gained younger sidekicks around the same time, and all three have faced difficult experiences. Spider-Boy was briefly erased from existence, and the Super-Twins were enslaved on Warworld. Now, they’re all getting a second chance, fighting crime alongside their mentors while also dealing with everyday kid problems like school and chores. A team-up story featuring the Super-Twins and Spider-Boy would be a charming and enjoyable read, particularly if written by Dan Slott, who created Spider-Boy and currently writes Superman Unlimited.

4. Scarlet Spider/New Super-Man

I’m probably biased as a fan, but I think it would be cool to see Kaine Parker (Scarlet Spider) team up with Kenan Kong (New Super-Man). Both characters are closely linked to iconic heroes – Spider-Man and Superman – without ever fully becoming them. They also each have distinct abilities, like Scarlet Spider’s spider-sense and New Super-Man’s resistance to magic. Plus, I’d love to see Gene Luen Yang write New Super-Man again, and this crossover would be a great way to do it.

3. Lex Luthor/Norman Osborn

A team-up between Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn is long overdue! Both are brilliant, arrogant villains with a deep-seated hatred for Superman and Spider-Man, respectively. Interestingly, they’ve also occasionally teamed up with those heroes. Imagine the dynamic between these two! Whether they’re bonding over their shared animosity, clashing over some trivial matter, or just trading insults, a story featuring Lex and Norman would be incredibly entertaining. DC and Marvel really need to make this happen.

2. Absolute Superman/Ultimate Spider-Man

To be honest, I doubt this will actually happen, but it would be fascinating if it did. Marvel and DC have both had great success recently with their Ultimate and Absolute lines, and the fresh takes on characters like Spider-Man and Superman have been hugely popular. Even a short story exploring a crossover could be really impactful. If someone like Jonathan Hickman or Jason Aaron wrote it, I’m confident it would be a story that really gets to the heart of what makes these heroes human and what motivates them.

1. Miles Morales/Jon Kent

I was really surprised that Miles Morales and Jon Kent weren’t included in the announcement for the Superman/Spider-Man comic. Both characters have become incredibly popular as they’ve taken on the mantles of Spider-Man and Superman in recent years. I think a story featuring them would be great, exploring themes like living up to expectations and the pressures of following in a legendary hero’s footsteps. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if we see this team-up happen next year – it’s a fantastic concept that feels inevitable.
